Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Stephanie lets out a sigh of relief as she exits, sipping her potion and heading toward Xlentia's chamber.

 

As she enters Xlentia's chamber, the goddess seems to be facing the door like she's going to pounce.
If her eyes weren't shut.
Stephanie feels a weak telepathic connection.
"S-stephanie? C-n you hear me?"

 

"Yes." Stephanie responds flatly.

 

"I-I'm so sorry I co-dn't save you... if I was just a l-ttle faste-..."

 

"Sure..." Stephanie says bluntly, unbelieving.

 

The connection waivers.
"D-did kill-ng my careta-er make you h-artless? I thought we w-r- friends..."

 

Stephanie suddenly seems to realise something.

"Ihra!? Oh god, I'm so sorry for being rude!" Stephanie apologises, trying to strengthen the connection, "I-I didn't realise it was you. Ihra, I just want to say, you really helped with my depression. Whenever I was around you, I didn't feel so bad."

Ihra feels something reaching out to her. Stephanie tries to bind a voodoo doll of Ihra.

 

The connection is far too weak to bind.
"I-it's okay... - just w-rri-d you fo-got me... I ju-t wanted to apolo-ize."

 

"Once again, we need an engineer. Depends on how long it takes us to get a good one, or to get in contact with Aj."

 

Stephanie tries with all her might to both strengthen the connection and bind the voodoo doll, even just to grab a shred of Ihra.

"Apologise for what, Ihra? My death wasn't your fault, if that's what you're thinking. Please, don't make yourself feel bad about it." Stephanie asks.

 

"Alright. We'll hope that's not long! Haven't done anything with my love in quite a while."

She can't grab anything, or strengthen the link.
"If I was f-ster, th-n maybe... but I... I'm t-red... I have to go... by- Ste-hani-e..." She utters, connection unstable.

 

"How'd you two leave each other?"
Crystal pipes up.

 

"He got imprisoned by the Hive Master on a little vacation. He's just bitter I'm not strong enough to save his hide along with mine."
She doesn't seem particularly happy about it, though.

 

"Ihra...trust me, I'll find a way to get to you. You don't deserve to be like this, and I will find a way to save you!" Stephanie says, her tone a mix of vengeance and confidence.

 

"Th--ks..."

Xlentia slowly gets up, looking wiped.
"I thought... maybe a bit of closure would be a better way to apologize for what happened to you."

 

"Hm."
"Well, do ya wanna keep training?"
Crystal invites.

 

"He's antsy to go, so I think we should hold off. We can train during a quiet night exploring if you want."

 

"It's certainly nice of you to be so nice to me after killing me. Most murders try to forget, or try to kill their victim again." Stephanie says offhandedly.

 

"Alright!"
"Where do you think he's looking?"

 

Xlentia sighs.
"I wanted forgiveness, but I'll take toleration."

"Bunk room, most likely."
