Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The figure pulls out a note and slides it to the spirit.

 

The spirit reads it, aware its presence isn't exactly welcome.

 

"The Lexicon Precantatio. A book of magic and secrets." The note reads, handwriting undetectable.

 

The spirit passes the note back.
"Author?"

 

The figure shrugs, showing the front page of the book. Part of it reads "Written by:" without a name listed.

 

The spirit seems a bit surprised.
"No invisible ink? Just completely nothing?"

 

The figure just shrugs. The paper under the 'written by' looks like it's had a lot of solutions rubbed on it, as well as various other attempts to find a signature.

 

The spirit seems even more interested.
"Where'd you find it? It's obviously not from here."

 

"Home. My parent's old library." The figure says through a note.

 

"Parents must be rich if they have a book like that." The spirit comments, impressed.

 

"They were. I don't think they knew it existed though. I found it in a secret area. When they let me out of my room for an hour." The figure says through a note, a tear staining it.

 

"Do you know what you were... um... sheltered... for?"

 

"Try what again?"
Crystal readies himself.

 

Linoa vanishes again without saying a word, smiling this time.

 

"Parents hated me." The figure says through a note.

 

"Hey, look at me. 'Least you weren't beat to death." They try to console, poking fun at themselves.

 

"I was kept in my "room" for 23 hours a day. I was a middle child they never wanted. They constantly said I was adopted, and if I was ever seen outside of my room out of hours they'd beat me bloody and unconscious." The figure says through a note, a few tears staining it.

 

Making a dash forward, Crystal soon pivots and turns behind him.

 

The spirit falls silent for a moment.
"Hey, you're here now. Though... how did you get here?"

Linoa is coming at him with a lunging jab.

 

Crystal jumps to the right, spinning, coming around with a momentum-driven jab to the chest.
