Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Cool. Don't need another reality check, do you?" Linoa asks sarcastically, uncloaking a levitating spear that she's been sitting on the whole time. "We can start with offense or defense, your call."

Emerald seems to process this for a bit.
"Perhaps you can identify his previous destinations. One pattern remains the same throughout history; he never voluntarily revisits any one place."

 

"...Defense."
Crystal smirks, thinking about Nilarq.

"How would I do that? I might, if you have a map to 'roughly on the opposite end of the cosmos.'"
I say, quoting Lyxa once more.

 

"Alright. You can parry attacks you know the 'tell' for, now try parrying things you have yet to see." Linoa says, jumping off and readying her lance-staff.
"Whenever you're ready."

"They had to be a spacefaring race, thus they're not the only spacefaring race. You have a shadow king; you're bound to be able to find someone and/or convince them to repair a holographic nav. Then, call me up and I'll map out his known locations."

 

Crystal visibly readies himself.

"That might be a problem considering Aj and co. are most likely at Aj's place."
I comment.

 

Crystal is jabbed at towards the face, then to the left knee.

"I've been rallying others to try to tell them the group's gonna be on the move soon." Emerald says.

 

Crystal tries hooking her weapon at the face jab, then bringing it down to deflect the knee jab.

"In that case, I'll remember to notify - probably Abigail, actually. She's said to be a better mechanic."

 

He can't hook, but he parries the first and narrowly avoids the second via his failed maneuver.
"Whoever created you made you for combat more than you think."

"Whatever works. I'm just throwing out suggestions. I don't know much outside this library."

 

"I don't want to rush her into anything. She's so special, and I don't want to spoil what we have. It's like she's a delicate glass globe. If you do something wrong, it's going to shatter," I say, opening a portal to the Realm of Shadows, "Sorry, I really have to go."

 

"What makes you say that? I just tried to do what I went over with Nilarq with some tweaks."
Crystal still seems prepared.

"Alright, well, I'll get back to you when that starmap is up and running. Until then, could I take one of those theories on Sivius?"

 

She nods.
"Good luck. Remember, it's her surprise to you. You're not pushing the lines here."

"Yeah. You did that. After a day of training."

The books float over again.
"Same deal. Three days if you take it outside the library."

 

"It's really that big of a deal?"

I nod, looking at the spines/covers for what the books might actually be about.

 

"You realize you, albeit accidentally, have been doing things on day 1 that are taught in year 2?"

There's a small one that seems to have a collection of the theories about Sivius, albeit with leas focus on detail.

 

"Oh. Then what's taught on day one?"

I take the small one of collections.
"Thanks."

 

"Generally, how to not stab yourself."

"Good luck finding him." Emerald says, going back to her work.

The book is comparatively tiny. It looks like a children's book in size; contrast a textbook.

 

"Well, I guess that's not that much of a problem for me."
Crystal taps his spear against his leg, making a 'tink' sound.

"I'll probably be coming back multiple times."
I comment, leaving the archives.
Finding a place to sit in the library, I open up the book.

 

It leaves a scratch, and Linoa laughs.
"Oh, sweetheart... I suppose as impressive as your first day was, there is something to experience."


"I'll probably be here each time." She responds.

It's about the time that Rineth stops resting.

 

"Yeah...Well, I really have to go." I say, stepping through the portal.


A few draconians notice an odd cloaked figure reading an old book in Emerald's library, sat on their own. They appear somewhat out of place.

 

"Doesn't hurt, so there's nothing to fear."
Crystal says, reforming his knee back to normal.
"Impressive stuff, though."
He's referring to the spear.

I take a quick scan of the book, first.

 

Emerald apporaches them herself.
"Hello?"

"It's only impressive when you get a custom made one." Linoa laughs, shifting her spear slowly to every element.

The writing is neat, but it's not much you haven't heard before.
Same old, same old, aside from a page that just says "He left everything and everything left him. My contact was brief but impossible."

 

The figure looks up from under their cloak, before nodding and going back to their book.
