Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

They look at you, expressionless, nodding to acknowledge you.

 

"So, what's it like around here?" I ask.

 

They look at you, confused.

 

I point around, generalising the forest, before giving a thumbs up and scratching my head; attempting to communicate.

 

They shake their hand side to side, as if saying "it's okay."

 

I open and close my hand like a mouth, before scratching my head, attempting to ask what language they speak.

 

They use a common sign language with shadows it seems.
"Runic Fell-Elven" They sign.

 

"I have not heard of that language. Is there a place where I can learn it?" I sign back.

 

They shrug.
"Unknown. How do you know the Fell Sign Language?"

 

"I am just sort of making it up as I go along." I sign, smiling.

 

"Good guesses so far." They reply. "May I ask why you are here?"

 

"Exploration. I am to take my group through here soon. I wanted to make sure it was safe. I wanted to see what it held as well." I sign.

 

"We mean no harm, but we have little. For my family's sake and the others, please don't tread down our home."

 

"One of my group members is a forest protector. I am sure that she shall see your home is not harmed." I sign, struggling slightly.

 

They nod.
"Travel safe. May Nyx have mercy."

 

"Nyx?" I sign confused.

 

"Our god of suffering."

 

"They do not sound pleasant. I hope you stay safe." I say, offering a crystal that emits darkness as a gift.

 

They take it uneasily, glancing it down.
"What does it do?"

 

"It creates darkness, as an opposition to a crystal that would create light. You may want to use it in a bedroom or place like it, to help you sleep." I sign, slower from trying to figure out how to say what I want to say.
