Looking To Buy A Gaming Laptop

Alright, I'm looking to buy a nice gaming laptop for myself. I want it to be able to run all the latest games at decent speed and graphics. Low power consumption and good battery life is important.

Pro tip: do not buy a gaming laptop.

That paper bag will do just fine. No power consumption at all, will run all the latest games at infinite fps with infinity×infinity resolution in the real world.

 

Could you give me reasons some reasons? I have money, but my craptop isn't doing really well.

 

- You can build a much better PC for cheaper, it'll be more fun as well to build one yourself. It will be more "yours".
- Laptops have horrible keyboards for gaming.
- Laptops force/encourage you to game in a very unergonomic position.
- Gaming laptops tend to overheat.
- Laptops have all kinds of bloatware installed.

- When a laptop breaks, it breaks. When something in your PC starts to get old/slow/breaks, you replace one part and it works again. Also, when your expensive gaming laptop does not run the newest games anymore, you will have to buy a completely new one.
For a PC you just buy a new GPU or something, and it runs games like new.

All in all, building a real PC is cheaper, more exciting, and gives you better results.

You do not need to game on the go. Get a tower.

 

Buy a desk top because it lasts longer and you can replace parts for less and easier.

 

Okay, so do you have to go places with the computer or are you stationary at a single house or location?

If you are stationary, invest in a desktop that you can build yourself. It is a lot cheaper than a laptop and a lot more powerful along with that it feels like you've customized it to your liking.

If you have to constantly be on the move then what is your budget for a laptop and is there anything that you must need in a laptop such as a 21 in screen or disk drive or some other thing.

 

If you're just going to play at home, build a PC. Most laptops are twice the price than DIY PC, because laptops are obviously portable like a gaming laptop with GTX 1050 Ti cost $1000 and they're worth as much as a $500 DIY PC wiith 1050 Ti.

And with the same price as the 1050 Ti Laptop, it's enough money to build yourself an i5-7500, GTX 1070, and 16 GB of RAM.

 

Alright, thanks. I'll look into building my own desktop first, and perhaps getting a cheaper laptop for reasons.

Bloatware isn't that big of a problem just make one safety disk and then install a clean copy of windows.
