Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Abigail skates back to Ragnyon happily, knowing how pleased she'll be to have it back.

 

She seems to be half-asleep on Sgavrinn who is distracted smelling flowers.

 

"I found your staff!" Abigail announces happily, holding up Ragnyon's staff.

 

Ragnyon perks up.
"Ah, thanks! I was hoping to have it earlier, but I'm glad you found it before we went off."

 

"Where are you going?" Abigail asks out of curiosity.

 

"To Rineth. We've got portals to four worlds Xlentia is maintaining that we can check out. Each has an indicated reason we may be interested in exploring." Ragnyon says, curiosity clear.

 

"Is one of them like a better Brisingr?" Abigail asks, excitement in her tone.

 

"I dunno, but we get four shots at finding one!"

 

"Awesome!" Abigail says happily, "We'll have the old group back together, just like...about a year ago at this point?"

 

"You've been together a year?! Has it only been that long?" Ragnyon asks, surprised.

 

"What? No, I've known Katie, Artemis, Aj and the gang way longer than a year," Abigail says, laughing slightly, "I meant with Rineth and you."

 

"Oh... still. Your journey's only been that long?"

 

"About," Abigail says, shrugging, "Year one, we beat Xlentia. Year two, who knows?"

 

I step into the right-most square, checking if anything happens.

 

"Hopefully we beat the Hive Master." Ragnyon sighs.

Nothing, except the phasing stops.

 

"He's the final boss of this game of..*****. We just need to be as prepared as possible," Abigail says, looking into the distance, "I'm scared, Ragnyon."

 

"I'm gonna try hitting one. Without really trying, I just wanna check something."
"Okay."
I approach one, and try to punch it.

 

"You don't know scared until the damnable thing runs a sword through your neck - and lets the public watch you bleed out as a demonstration of what happens to those who don't obey."

Seems to be made of medium-density metal.

 

I try squeezing the chin, checking how tough.

 

Abigail shakes for a bit, before skating away; sliding down her visor as she does. It seems that wasn't the best thing to say.
