Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Hive Master? I'm surprised he's still around. I thought the group left to attack him after freeing Xlentia from the curse."

 

"Group?" Mortius asks, confused.

 

"No, I haven't. It sounds a lot like Sivius, though... Why?" Lyxa asks, uneasy.

The hellhound seems thoroughly distracted, and there seems to be a small life form under the sand, but it's off to the side of her path.

Meanwhile, she picks up enough life forces on the island to suggest a metropolis.

 

Gaia diverts her path momentarily, holding her hand out and moving it to the side as the sand is moved away where the small life form is. Gaia looks at what was hiding beneath the sand, curious.

 

A draconian sleeping next to a pile of treasures, gold, and a cutlass in hand seems to jolt awake at her hideout being uncovered.
"H-huh?! What the hell?" She groans, wearily standing up.

 

"Hello!" Gaia says happily, "Are you one of the people of this desert?"

 

"Y-yes..." The draconian mumbles.
"Shit... y-you're a god!" They utter, backing into the corner of their cave while gripping their cutlass tightly.

 

"I'm not going to hurt you!" Gaia says kindly, kneeling down in the sand.

 

The draconian eases up.
"Who are you and why are you here, if I may ask?"

 

"My name is Gaia. I just thought I'd explore this desert after investigating the ice ocean, looking for plants or people, and I noticed you in the sand." Gaia says calmly.

 

"Because he matches some of Sivius's description... when did you last hear from Sivius?"

 

"G-gaia! Shit... so glad I didn't piss you off. My name's Milla, a bit of an infamous mercenary here. W-would you mind putting the sand over my den again?"

"Two years ago... why?"

 

"Infamous mercenary? What do you mean?" Gaia asks, slightly confused.

 

"My sword to the highest bidder. I haven't failed a contract yet."

 

"You mean...you kill people? Anyone?" Gaia asks, surprised.

 

"Rarely, but if the money's good, yes. Though, I don't kill if they haven't earned it."

 

"So you think you have the right to take someone else's life just because someone is giving you money to do so!?" Gaia asks angrily, her hair and eyes turning to a flaming red, the sand around Gaia turning into clear glass.

 

Milla retakes her defensive position.
"Look, lady Gaia. Mother told me this isn't your reality. So, don't go messin' with ours because you're gettin' all fired up at me doin' what I do." She says defiantly.

 

"Would your gods approve of your actions!?" Gaia asks, still angry.

 

Virei'tus appears.
"Ma'am, I am Virei'tus, Deity of Divine Judgement and high god of light. I ask you please stand down from harassing this mortal." He says, taking Milla's side.
"Mercenaries are everywhere. I wouldn't be surprised if your reality had them as well, but please, do not take it out on the first one you meet."
