Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The chimera looks perfectly happy, though a dog tail wagging on something between a lizard and a deer is awkward.
"I... don't sssee the issssue. They all sssmell content..." Mavis comments, confused.

He has three more, or he can assume everything looks as ruinous as that realm.
Or he can talk to Xlentia directly about the situation.

 

"Well...they don't look very natural. They look like someone decided to experiment with animal parts and life." Gaia says, stroking the Chimera sympathetically.


Mortius decides to look through one of the other portals before making judgement.

 

It... hums.
"Oddly enough, everything here is a natural creation, no matter how... twisssted they look." Mavis states.

Entering through Maralune is worse; it looks like something ate the planet alive, then starved.

 

"Well...not to sound offensive, but I think I'll go back to looking for people. I'm curious as to what everyone does here!" Gaia says happily, putting the Chimera down and glancing through some of the walls for signs of life.


Mortius ducks back out of the portal, before looking around the palace for a graveyard, changing back to his larger form to assist travel.

 

The chimera seems satisfied with the attention as Mavis opts to fly alongside Gaia.
"The training room hasss combatantsss, and the bunk room would be the two placesss I would sssearch, other than the library."

The closest thing there is the cryostasis room.

 

"Where are the bunk rooms?" Gaia asks, curious.


Mortius looks for an exit to the palace, hoping to find a graveyard outside once he gets there.

 

"Follow me." Mavis offers, darting towards the corner of the hallway.

He finds the entryway, and... there's a garden.

 

Gaia follows easily, curious and happy.


Mortius heads into the garden, looking around the plants out of curiosity to see what can be grown.

 

Mavis spins above a doorway.
"Inssside isss anyone who resssidesss here who usssesss a bed."

Thousands of flowers, none of them particularly brightly colored, and apparently a lone black flower that seems to be in a box and being looked at by another lesser god of death.

 

Gaia looks through the doorway curiously.


Mortius floats over to the lesser god of death, making his presence known with a chilling "Hello."

 

There's sleeping guardians and shadows, but mostly draconians. The draconians aren't sure what to make of Gaia, but some wave while others carry on dragging themselves awake.

Gaia waves back happily.

"I probably shouldn't disturb them," Gaia says happily, laughing slightly, before thinking for a bit, "Do you have any plants around here? I'm thinking I could harvest some of their seeds to take back with me. It'd be interesting to see what different timelines do to different plants!"

 

"Asssk Commander Emerald. Ssshe knowsss everything here..."

 

"Where is she?" Gaia asks happily.

 

"Library, very back. Ssshe tendsss to be rather sssecretive. In her defenssse, I would be if I knew asss much asss ssshe did." Mavis says. "Top floor, too."

 

"I thought a compass points in one direction."
"On earth. Magnetic poles, axies... I really don't want to explain it in detail right now."
"...Well, what do we do now?"
"There was a city. We could ask people there if N-E is a direction, or a place, or whatever it might actually be."
"What if there's something here still? We only explored like... two rooms."
"Okay, fair point. Let's look around a bit more, then we head over to the city that we saw?"
"Seems good to me!"
Crystal says, running a bit ahead of me as I trail.

 

"Ok, thank you very much Mavis!" Gaia says happily, a slight green glow surrounding her, before she heads off toward the library, trying not to step on anyone.

 

There's not much else left to see at the wreck, unfortunately... and getting to the city'll take maybe until nightfall.

She succeeds, and upon entering, is faced with thousands of (mostly draconians) beings reading books that line shelves thirty stories high.

Gaia can see Tenebrae on the 14th floor, and there's a grand staircase spiraling all the way up to the 30th floor.

 

"Oh... turns out there's not much here..."
"That's okay. We'll figure this out. Let's head to the city, okay? Ask around."
"Alright, seems good to me."
Crystal walks out, and I follow.
"Just follow me, I remember the direction. And if anyone asks where we're from, answer 'not important'. We don't really want to blabber our mouths about the fact that we entered through a portal."
"Won't people get mad if we don't tell them, though?"
"Trust me, a lot won't care to peruse the subject too far. Let's get moving."
Crystal forms into the same dog-form as before, and I fly off in the direction of the city, waiting for when night hits.

 

You get to the gates during sunset, the guards unsure of what to make of you.
"Hold! State your name and business!" One shouts.
