"I know why you did it, but if you want to get even next time, we talk it out. You lost on a favor, closure with Ihra, and gold, sweetheart. Disarm the doll and I'll consider giving you what I gave your form in compensation... minus the closure. She didn't ask."

 

OOC: Yeah okay sure I'll take it from here then.

"Hey, what's up?"
"Kyle and I needed to get you. Appearently Xelentia's got some portals, whatever that might bring."
"Ohhkayyy... I'll follow you."
Crystal closes the book and puts it back where he found it then trails me, as I go to find Kyle.

 

"...I can't." Shadow Stephanie says, seeming rather hurt at missing out on closure with Ihra, a tear dropping to the floor.

 

"You realize that an attempt on my life technically gives me permission to kill you in self defense?" Xlentia asks bluntly.

"...Give me the doll, vow not to do this crap again, and I'll give you closure." She offers.

Kyle seems to be running down the staircase.
"Faster than me. I'll show you to the portals, if you're ready to explore mostly on your own."

 

"Where do they go?"
"Can we come back?"
We say pretty much at the same time.

 

"Dunno, and yes." Kyle responds, pointing to you and then Crystal.

 

Shadow Stephanie holds out the doll, a smile cracking over her face.

"You'll need Steph to unbind it." Shadow Stephanie says, still not making eye contact.

 

"Oh, so you turned her against me too? I almost passed out going out of my way to apologize and try to compensate her! She knew I wasn't myself!" Xlentia snaps, noticing the smile.

"I don't take dishonest deals." She says, glaring.

 

"Then let's go find out."
I say enthusiastically, Crystal smiling.

 

"You let me know how it is. My orders are to stay here, so... good luck. No domes out there." He says, leading you out of the library.

A draconian nudges you.
"I'm so sorry to interrupt your book, but I think you should go follow those two. You did come in with them, didn't you?"

 

"Right."
I say confident.
"See ya!"
We walk out of the library, talking, into Xelentia's chambers.

 

Kyle seems to silently redirect you into another secret room, four portals standing idle within.
"Here... there should be a sign that tells you where the hell they go somewhere."

 

"Okay."
We both walk into the room, trying to find the signs.

 

There seems to be a small label under each portal.

Entelp: Land of the Wandering Myth

Xyrnal: Land of the False Prophet

Asimuul: Land of the Silent Aftermath

Maralune: Land of the Sated Ruins


There doesn't seem to be anything stopping you from entering whatever portal you feel like entering.

 

"Which one looks good to you? I'm really fine with whatever."
I ask Crystal, and he seems to think for a bit.
"Entelp!"
Crystal says, settping towards the portal.
"Any reason?"
Crystal stops.
"Well, I like stories, and whatever 'myth' is here is probably important. It is part of the sign here, and it's part of the name. If it's just some stupid myth, then what's the point of that?"
"Let's go, then."
Crystal runs through first, and I step through after.

 

The pair step out into what seems to be glass, but upon closer inspection turns out to be an impressively clear frozen ocean.
There's a desert region, a volcanic region, a raging ocean, and some kind of fleshy structure in the desert.
There's also a spacecraft wrecked in the desert, cities visible in the volcanic area, and a forest just visible over the horizon.

 

"Metal ship!"
Crystal transforms into a dog-like form, running off.
"Crystal, wait!"
He doesn't, and I check to see if the portal is still there.

 

The portal is still there, but as you step away, it seems to fade.
Step back, and it reappears.

There seems to be a little part of you that remembers its precise location, though. Same for Crystal.

Crystal doesn't even crack the ice, though it's a bit more slippery than he anticipated.

 

He stops, sliding and spinning, giggling, as I try to etch a medium-size mark in a circle around the portal with fire.

 

The ice seems to melt easily, but the indentation slowly fills back up.

If Crystal's looking for skating, this is probably the best place to do it.
