"She isn't here?"

 

"Alternate realities? I had not thought such a thing was true, but...the God of Time told me that each choice we make splits our realities apart, creating an alternate reality where we made a different choice. Though, that begs the question, how did you contact me if you're from a completely different reality?" Tenebrae asks, clearly fascinated.

 

"Nah, and she didn't leave a note about her whereabouts."

"Through a statue of you. For whatever reason, we are able to open portals between my realm and your realm alone. I also accidentally crushed a few houses in your realm as I lost my balance... but I think I overcompensated in gold. Regardless... I had no idea I'd go from mind controlled by public enemy number one to talking with a goddess from another... everything."

 

"Well, where could we look? I didn't really see what was around."

 

"She's only ever here or the training room, but she wasn't called to mistress' chamber... I'm stumped."

 

"I can sense some of my children near to you. How they managed to get to your reality, I am not sure, but perhaps my realm serves as a gateway between them? If some of my children are in your reality, then they will be able to return to my realm, creating a portal, not between realms, but between realities," Tenebrae theorises, "I must consult the other gods about this occurrence. I shall speak to the queen of my realm, and see what I can do to prevent her from killing you. If you're a goddess of darkness in an alternate reality, then perhaps you're an alternate version of myself?"

 

"I don't know. My reality was already too big for me to understand; I'm just blissfully confused to find someone who doesn't hate me!" Xlentia says happily.
"...However, the portals only work in our realms. Nowhere else can they reach, so... hmm... I know I can go in and out freely, so maybe other gods can too? I can't communicate but through this statue from my chambers."

 

"One, how do you know she wasn't, two, we could look for Crystal."

 

"I have no way of knowing, and sure, that's probably a better use of our time."

 

"I sense you're using my realms king as a repeater to reach my statue, to reach me. If you do not mind, I would most like to visit your realm, Xlentia, and I'm sure some of the other gods would too. I know Gaia is most interested in seeing new life bloom," Tenebrae says, curious, "I don't see why anyone could hate you. I have viewed far more malicious people, and you certainly do not seem like one of them."

 

"What's specifically against checking in Xelentia's chambers?"

 

"Well... my role is a bit sinister. I'm responsible for destroying anything and all that gets out of hand or that my brother judges deserves it. My realm since has been a bit of an animal shelter since everything that gets sent to my realm is orphaned, hunted to near extinction, or just too much of an apex predator to be allowed to live in their original location."
She pauses.
"But no, I wouldn't mind... however it's a bit of a mess. Your realm's king stormed in and whipped the mind control right out of me, so half my palace is torn up. Other than that, perhaps you may find my library for my servants of interest."

"The fact that she likes to squish people who come in uninvited that shouldn't. Apparently it's a comfort thing."

 

"That'll do it. I technically have an excuse, but I wouldn't like to disrupt her comfort. Let's split up to find Crystal, where could we look?"

 

"What languages does he know?" Kyle asks, pointing to the library directory.

 

I shrug.
"He is made of magic, though."

 

"Start on floor 5; common tongue." Kyle says, starting to book it down the stairwell.

 

"Well, you might want to hide that information from Gaia. She has a very strong love for life, and absolutely hates it when something dies before it is due," Tenebrae says, "I'll talk with my realm's queen now, and then see what I can do about visiting your realm with the other gods."

Xlentia feels the connection's strength halve, letting her say anything she might want to before Tenebrae leaves.

 

I do, going to floor five and looking around. After not finding anything, I look to see if there might be anyone who knows anything.

 

"Hard to. My palace is literally made of the chimera!"

 

"A Chimera? A beast made from others?" Tenebrae asks, concerned.
