Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I'm guessing you're talking from experience? Oh wait, you're not an immortal." Tenebrae says maliciously, laughing.

 

"W-well, at least I'm not just sitting on my ass while mother gets corrupted!" Xlentia retorts, flustered. "You're a shitty big sister. Tell the child to talk it out with me a-and I'll leave you alone!"

 

"Don't talk to me like we're related in any shape or form." Tenebrae says, sighing, exhausted with Xlentia as she cuts the connection.

 

Xlentia seems disheartened, sighing.
"Guess I'm on my own... Hmph."

She hopes you come back, just hoping Shadow Stephanie leaves her alone.


Emerald returns to the palace with a letter and piece of gold.
"Mistress is busy crying, so whenever the queen gets back, give her this. Also tell the king she doesn't want the deal anymore."

 

"Alright, will do." The guard says, heading into the palace.


A long while later, I step through a portal into the void, specifically Xlentia's chamber, looking confused.

"What's the deal with you not wanting the deal?" I joke, "But seriously, the forest guardians have already begun work on growing the flowers."

 

Xlentia seems to be laying in a few tears.
"Your queen is threatening my life and your goddess has since turned her back on me after I was corrupted. I... I trust you, but it's not worth protecting people who don't want it." She sighs, shaken.

 

"Shadow Stephanie is pretty pissed you killed Stephanie," I say, "And besides, she's a Shadow, what would you expect from her?"

 

"I expected to be able to talk, but I guess I'm kinda shunned now... Tenebrae had the nerve to call me a mortal, even though it was a pact made with ME that's protecting her from all the mortal attacks! Y-you're kind of my only ally now..." She utters, tearing up.

 

"She made a pact with you?" I ask, confused.

 

"Most gods don't like me. I had struck a deal with Chronos; her and her brother are safe from mortal attacks since he keeps their realms timeless. Chronos only agreed to do it so they'd stop picking on me..." Xlentia whimpers, reminiscing on bad memories.

 

"I thought they created their timeless realm through a paradox?" I ask, confused.

 

I still have a shakey recovery again, checking for the kunai in my neck before taking the hand.
"Sorry for the cheap shot, it looked like it ticked you off."

"I'm glad you agree with my philosophy in battle, but still..."
I trail off, implying that it's still a cheap shot.

The laughter fills the room, before even more laughter appears from another direction. An image of a voodoo doll flashes in Xlentia's mind, looking like a humanoid version of her.

 

"Getting Crystal and seeing why Xlentia has four portals waiting for you."

Xlentia lets out a panicked gasp.
"Aj, please let me speak with your god..." She utters telepathically, desperately.

 

"Why? She's not really one for talking. I've only spoken to her twice." I ask, curious.

The laughter goes silent, leaving an ominous air.

 

"I-I think the queen is trying to threaten me into submission..."

 

"Well okay then."
I seem surprised.
"I don't know where Crystal is, though, so that might be troublesome."

 

"She was pretty pissed at you for killing Stephanie. Remember when I said I couldn't control every Shadow?" I say, "She's pretty much had a seething anger for you, which holding back recently essentially dumped gasoline on the fire crystal."
