Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"What for?" Myria asks, suspicious.

 

"D-didn't Aj tell you? She's wanted to speak with you all, now that she's feeling better."

 

"Hm. Very well, I'll go get Artemis." Myria says, getting up and leaving her book on the bench she was sitting on in the gardens.

Myria walks off toward the entrance of the palace, luckily finding Artemis quickly as she seems to have been looking for Myria.

"Mother, I found this adorable cat wandering toward the palace. She's so cute, do you think I could keep her? She has a name tag, but it doesn't say who her owner is." Artemis says, holding a relaxed Onyx who purrs happily.

"You might want to talk to Aj about that. I've seen that cat wandering around the palace, I think she lives here," Myria says, "Besides, we have a meeting to attend with Xlentia."

"Ok Mother!" Artemis says happily, carrying Onyx with her as she follows Myria back to Sapphire.

 

Sapphire opens a portal, stepping through.
"M-mistress, I got them for you..."
"All of them?"
"No, j-just two..."
"Good enough."

 

Myria and Artemis step through the portal, along with Onyx being carried by Artemis.

"Hello, Xlentia. It's nice to meet you." Myria says calmly.


Onyx opens an eye, noticing Sapphire. She lets out a quiet meow to try and notify Sapphire of her presence.

 

Sapphire uncloaks, her armor still torn up and dented.

"Glad you could make it. I wanted to thank you for freeing me, and let you know you each get an I-O-U from me. Also that I heard forest guardians are good with plants..."

 

"The duty of a forest guardian is to protect the forest they reside in in the name of Gaia. We have natural abilities concerning the creation and manipulation of nature and animals." Artemis explains proudly.

"It was very easy to see that you very clearly were not yourself during our battle. I believe the removal of free will from any being is wrong." Myria says.

 

"I... would like to request aid. Your aid. You can grow plants from others? I... need medicine. Badly..." She says, partially revealing a half-body gash.

 

"We should be able to grow any kind of plant; though we're also capable of healing." Myria says calmly.

 

"I need... more of a particular flower grown. They're extremely delicate, but I can guarantee you that if anyone finds out, you will be hunted relentlessly and-or robbed."

 

"Do you have some of this flower here?" Myria asks, clearly not worried.

Onyx seems rather scared, shaking slightly and burying her face in her fur. Artemis gently strokes Onyx and tries to calm her down.

 

"Seeds." Xlentia barks, and Emerald drops off three tiny black seeds in Myria's hand.
"Void Flower. The powder of the petals makes an extremely potent medicine... the only thing that can heal this wound. Only problem? A gram of the medicinal powder is worth... this much."
Xlentia slides a pile of gold twice as tall as Artemis near her.
"I won't pay you that much, but I will let you keep the secret of growing them if you can aid me."

 

"I've heard of those before! As I remember, I tried to grow one in the past, but because of how few there are, it took a lot of power and time." Artemis says.

"That will certainly be a problem. While we're capable of growing any kind of plant, it hinges on the amount of the plant there is in existence. Ones close to extinction are much harder to grow than, say, an oak tree." Myria explains.

 

"I know. However, I... need the medicine, and there's no other species I've found that can even grow them at all. I will make any efforts worth your time, but... I need much more than a gram for this wound."

 

"How much medicine does a void flower make?" Myria asks.

 

With the help of my rocket feet, I jump back farther than before, checking how far Kyle's tail reaches.

 

"About a gram a petal."

He nicks your foot, knocking you a bit off track so you fly to the other side of the arena.
"Holding back sucks..."

 

"How could I improve on that, then?"
I say, landing a bit rough, but still focusing and preparing.

 

Myria thinks for a bit.

"I'll see what I can do to get these grown. Should things go well, there'll be enough medicine to treat your wound in...about a year." Myria says, thinking and looking at Xlentia's wound.

 

"No, I'm holding back. No magic. Annoying."

"A YEAR?!" Xlentia asks, shocked. "Hell, I'd dance with you any day if it only takes a year!"
