Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Keeping mind to not look directly at the tail, I come in closer and wait.

 

Onyx seems rather happy to see a campfire, smiling wide at the beast before picking up some of the fish and taking it over to the campfire.

Onyx gently holds a fish near the campfire, attempting to cook it, before looking toward some of the trees on the island when the fish just gets a little warm. Onyx heads over to one of the trees and climbs it, attempting to find a stick long enough and strong enough to pierce a fish on and hold it over the fire with.

 

He flings a throwing axe at you with his tail, rushing at you behind it.

Seems there's already a few sticks like that near the campfire.

 

Onyx picks up one of the sticks instead, cooking a fish over the campfire and smiling. Onyx gets rather excited once the fish cooks, almost like she's never cooked something over a fire before.

 

It doesn't take long.
The fire is also a nice contrast to the slightly chilling air as the moon rises.

 

I made a downward motion with my sword, slamming the axe to the ground, but still keeping my sword at Kyle's level. I then jab, in response to Kyle's advance.

 

He parries as well, jumping off to the side as you barely also manage to block a tail swipe.

 

Onyx shivers in her wet clothes, deciding to arrange some of the sticks near the campfire to make a faux-clothes line and hanging her clothes over them to dry, sitting close to the warm fire in nothing but her black underwear.

 

I make quick work of looking for the thrown axe, before looking back to Kyle.

 

"Get in the cave. Cover the mouth. Storm coming." The construct warns. "I'll keep those dry until morn."

It's behind you.
Kyle seems intent on pushing you to react, feigning a jab.

 

Onyx nods, collecting up the fish and taking them to the cave, before quickly running back and lighting a stick on fire to light the candles she saw in the cave.

 

I do react, near leaping back, and stepping back until in range of the axe, which I pick up with my left hand.

 

Candles lit, the cave feels awkwardly warm. Not particularly cozy, but enough that being on the bed under the blankets won't be cold.

Kyle waits, seeing how you use it.

 

Onyx covers the cave's mouth, as she was told to do, before heading over to the bed. Onyx's underwear wasn't spared from the water, and upon realizing she'll most likely be alone for the night, she decides to take it off to prevent getting the bed wet. Onyx puts her underwear near some of the candles in the hopes the warmth they provide will aid their drying, before getting into the bed and covering herself over.

 

The bed isn't the softest thing there is to lay on in existence, but it's better than the cave floor. It also smells nice, causing Onyx to quickly fall asleep.

In the morning, Onyx is woken by the subtle sound of the waves, her clothes hung carefully inside the cave.

 

Onyx yawns, sleepily getting out of the bed and stretching out, before realizing she's completely naked. Onyx walks over to her dried underwear, slipping it on before heading over to her clothes and putting them on too, careful not to get her tail caught.

Onyx peeks out of the cave, looking around outside.

 

The beast is outside, but Sapphire isn't. The weather is overcast, and visibility off the island isn't great.

 

Onyx decides to head back into the cave, taking a couple of fishes from her pile to eat for breakfast.

 

The fish taste... mostly plain, one of them slightly bitter.
At least they weren't poisonous.

 

Onyx spits out the bitter fish, before sighing. Onyx looks outside again curiously, glancing toward the trees to see if she could gather some wood to make a small fire.
