Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Doing quick checks, I look above, then behind, and if I don't find him, I do a quick round check and stop when I find him.

 

Behind again.
He comes for a low sweeping swing after you parry the attempted backstab.

 

Leaping backwards, just out of reach, I advance into a right-to-left downwards diagonal strike.

 

Seeing the frozen creatures, Onyx seems rather relieved, changing to her more human-like form. Luckily, unlike her cat form, she has clothing on. Onyx wears a long sleeve black shirt, with a short sleeve dark grey jacket over it. A light grey skirt covers a good half of her fair-skinned legs, her black tail protruding from under it. Onyx doesn't seem to have any footwear, however, and her collar and nametag remain around her neck in a faux-necklace style. A pair of black catlike ears poke out from Onyx's long black hair, and a pair of olive green eyes on Onyx's face dart around the room.

Onyx takes quick breaths, falling against the wall of the room and sitting down, clearly exhausted from the amount of running and fearful encounters she's had.

 

He seems to go for a jab, twisting his blade to spin off yours to the side and scratching you.
"Shit, almost went through with that... You good, or we need to reset?"

A small blue thread falls beside her, seeming to drag along a plate. It has a piece of bread, a piece of fish, and a nice smelling herb of sorts.
Shortly after, the thread seems to disappear entirely.

 

Onyx freezes up, looking around suspiciously, before deciding to eat the food presented to her; clearly hungry.

 

Something takes a mask off, revealing the face of a sapphire-scaled draconian.
"You looked famished, I'm sorry to scare you." She says, keeping half-a-giant-room of distance.

 

Onyx looks rather petrified upon noticing the draconian, eyes darting around the room, often toward the exit. Onyx seems to contemplate whether or not she should run to escape or try and hide, and whether or not it's too late to turn back into a cat, a thought she doesn't seem to like all to much.

Onyx just sits where she is, frozen out of fear and indecisiveness, a look of terror in her olive eyes.

 

I stumble back a bit, sword still in my right hand.
"I'm good. I'm surprised you managed to deflect that so easily."

 

The draconian puts on their mask again, disappearing entirely.

"Your momentum was directed to the side. With me just adding a tiny bit more, you would almost break your shoulder if you even managed to stop yourself from swinging wide." Kyle explains, stepping back.

 

"Hm."
I nod, taking note, and waiting for Kyle to make his next move or direction.

 

Onyx nervously finishes her food, before pulling her legs toward her chest and crying, shaking. It seems everything Onyx has gone through has been too much.

 

Onyx finds herself having a warm, invisible hug.
"It's okay, kitty. I promise. We won't tell."

"When you make a slash, you have to commit. Can't fake one with this heavy of a weapon. Now, how closely were you paying attention when Nilarq went over elements with Crystal?"

 

Onyx gives in, hugging the invisible thing back while sobbing, still slightly distrustful but in need of a hug.

 

The invisible thing pats her on the back.
"I'm sorry to scare you, I didn't know mistress' palace was this petrifying to outsiders."

 

"e-efurrythings s-so scary h-here..." Onyx says shakily, "p-people can see straight through me, a-and im pawbably being hunted by one of those s-snakes or m-meownsters"

 

"What do you mean? You're not invisible. Plus, those snakes and monsters are just other citizens. They're afraid of you as much as you are them, if not more. Nobody's hunting you here."

 

"n-no, t-they can see me w-when im in my c-cat furm," Onyx says fearfully, wiping her tears only to have them be replaced with more, "i-if my secret got out that im, w-well, this, then i would b-be hunted down and k-killed fur my bodyparts"

 

"Nobody's going to tell. Why would you be hunted, though?" The voice says, revealing herself to be the sapphire draconian as she takes off her mask again.

 

"b-beclaws people see me as a monster...i-i havent even shown my m-master who i really am..." Onyx says tearfully, shaking.
