I want to exchange my Idol (I think it has pretty good ID) for your Thrundacrack.

 

Sorry sir those aren't really good ids, the raw spell and int matter way more and thrundacrack is just worth more than an idol :/

 

Because tidebinder is a thing...

Actually I calculated it and idol does far more damage than tide. Also Heartache does more than Tide, but I calculated it before motoki made his thingies so I'll have to recalculate to be sure.

I also just added the raw spell instead of adding it x4.5 for an uppercut since I thought that was how it worked but it doesn't.

 

Their damage is quite similar in any build.

Idol does about 30% more damage on average. Paying 3-4 stacks extra for that comes down to personal preference.

Then again Idol can reach 147 int with next to no extra sp investiments, which is nice.
Tide can be used with other elements more freely because of the way lower sp requirement.

So, Idol is the better weapon, but not by a huge margin. Therefore 3-4 stacks for Idol is just about what it should be.

 

Idol focuses more on the less common ids of water. It grants ids that are usually needed to be combined with another element. For instance, soul point regen, which is usually water+air or thunder. Tidebinder is almost as good, or even better in pure water builds, but idol is better used for basically any other water build

 

Out of curiousity, what Idol build do you run?

Ahhh k. It's one of the best Grimtraps, so it will be very expensive
