"The queen."

 

"You mean Shadow Stephanie? Jeez, what did you do to piss her off?" Abigail asks, smiling.

 

"I told her I used to be a mail carrier between gangs. When I tried to bail, they walled me off from the palace." Alice sighs.

 

"Wow, tough break. At least you're still alive though, right?" Abigail asks.

 

"Happy to be and lucky to be." Alice utters.

 

"Well, at least things can't get worse for you. I'm pretty sure death is one of the worst things that can happen, so even if you mess up your speech it won't be that bad." Abigail says, shrugging.

 

"Not many like them, huh."

 

"Yeh. Still, I should try to relax. I went from zero to hero in a week and hell is it weird."

"Too many like them." Kyle mumbles.
"You said broadsword, Thirteen?"
"You're teaching a robot?"
"Why not?"
"You know how I feel about robots."
"Nobody asked you, Sylvia."
"Hmph."

 

"Well, try not to fuck up." Abigail says, patting Alice on the shoulder before heading over to one of the waiters walking around and ordering some food for herself.

 

"How do you feel about robots, Sylvia?"
I ask, walking over towards Kyle, nodding in reference to his question.

 

Alice laughs, looking around for someone to talk to.

"They're a pitiful excuse for laziness." She says, disgruntled. "Bastards think they can kill my brother and replace him with a hunk of metal..."

Kyle hastily waves you over inside the ring.

 

I jog over inside.
"She's not all that wrong, albeit biased."
I say to Kyle casually.

 

"Should've warned you about her, sorry." Kyle sighs.

 

"Everyone's got opinions."
I say, shrugging.

 

Alice notices Artemis standing not too far from her, sipping a drink from a wooden cup and glancing around the masses of people.

 

"Still... I gotta grab a few broadswords. Any element you want?"

Alice approaches her.
"Hey... thanks for the vote of confidence. Means a lot." She says, smiling.

 

"I'm sticking with my own, but thanks. I'll be here."

 

"Oh, hey Alice! I'm guessing you mean when we first met? No problem. Aj isn't really that bad." Artemis says happily, sipping her drink. A pleasant smell comes from Artemis' cup.

 

Kyle soon returns with two more broadswords.
"Dome up! He says, getting into the ring.

It was just a bit nerve wracking to be making my request in a pool of someone else's blood." Alice utters.

 

"Aj really needs to learn how to clean up the bloodstains he leaves. If I ever left a bloodstain around, I could've been tracked." Artemis says, sighing and finishing her drink.
