Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Alice keeps waiting for a likely gang-affiliated shadow.

 

None show up. It appears tensions are high with a meeting soon. The day progresses as it appears it should, earth guardians working hard, but not so hard they die from exhuastion or even look unconfortable. The higher up Shadows keep watch, looking out for anything suspicious.

 

Alice heads to the meeting place, nervous.

 

The city exit is hardly suspicious, carts and people going in and out of the city. None of the gang members seem to be there.

 

Alice opts to go off to the side and reach out with you for a progress update.
"My liege, are you busy?"

 

"Not really. What is it?" I ask.

 

"Can you tell my other boss I need an extra day? There's an ambush tomorrow and I wanna scavenge the aftermath for more info. So far I have 2 HQ locations and six names of affiliated gangs." Alice says briefly, checking her surroundings.

 

"An ambush? Where? With who?" I ask, "I mean, holy shit, six gang names and two HQ locations!?"

 

"Current location and three blocks west just outside the city hall. Gangs are gonna bash each other, and that's gonna be a treasure trove of info. Also, you make it sound like two locations is a lot. It literally took one damn day. Chill." Alice says, cutting the link and darting off.

 

"Damn it, Alice-" I say before the link is cut.

 

She relinks.
"Make it quick. I've got places to be."

 

"If there's going to be a gang ambush then you can't be there! It's too dangerous! I'm sending my soldiers there to intercept it and backtrack to their gangs to shut them down." I say, serious.

 

Alice sighs.
"Alright, I'm returning now. Seems they're prepping for war, and they're not doing anything at the mine today. I beg your forgiveness for my outburst, my king." She says, booking it to the palace.

 

"I want a full report on everything you've seen and done during your investigation, copies to be handed to the head detective and I." I say.

 

"Yes, sir. When I get home, I need a pen, shitloads of paper, and a map of the city, outskirts included. Please?" She asks, getting kind of close to the palace.

 

I sigh, "Alright." I say.

 

She cuts the link again, now visible darting up to the palace gate.

 

The guards open the gates for Alice, remaining silent.

 

She only slows down once she gets to the gates, tired as she heads towards the elevator.

 

Alice barely manages to see someone disappear through the elevator near to the palace entrance as she walks over.
