Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Crystal heads back to Xelentia's gold room, curiosity driving him.

 

Xlentia seems to notice him enter this time.
"Back already, hon?"

 

"Yeah, I was wondering about something in the garden. Do you know about everything in there?"

 

The Shadow crawls out of the passage, unblocking and blocking it again before leaving the deeper mines, weak earth guardians chipping away at the rock.

The Shadow heads up a walkway back to the top of the mines, trying to not look suspicious. He grabs one of the shadowy horses kept near the mines before riding back toward the outskirts of the city, moving incredibly fast.

The Shadow arrives at a nasty part of the outskirts of the kingdom, tying his horse up before heading into a nearby bar. Various Shadows and strong looking guardians drink, laugh and fight as a strong smell of smoke and blood fills the air. The Shadow walks through the bar casually, the bartender's expression uncaring as the Shadow heads into the back of the bar. The Shadow walks down a wide hallway with a few doors either side, one large door at the end. As the Shadow walks along, a hardly clothed air guardian bursts out of one of the doors next to him, a bedsheet the only thing covering her as tears run down her face, her knees looking weak. The Shadow gives her a wry smile, grabbing her arms and holding them behind her back before pushing her back where she came, a look of fear in her eyes when she looks back as a pair of hands grabs her and pulls her back in, laughing as her screams can just about be heard before the door shuts.

"Dumb bitches need to learn their place in this world." The Shadow sneers, heading through the large door at the end, a fat, wealthy looking Shadow sitting at a desk piled high with money which he counts, a pair of tough looking body guards either side.

"Boss, the Cracked Skulls have paid out. They said they want more gems if we want more slaves." The Shadow says, handing over the letter and money.

"I say we arrange a meeting. Two days from now. Beside the city exit at midnight. We ask these crooked skulls for a large amount of slaves, we get em to kidnap a ton. Then, we spring em, take the slaves and kill their men." The wealthy looking Shadow says, his voice deep.

"Heh, crooked skulls. Good one, boss." One of the body guards says, not seeming very intelligent.

"What about the mines boss? The slaves there are used up. We can't let the manager find out, but if we stop getting loads out-"

"Did I ask you to voice your concerns to me? You go back to those damn mines and work those slaves till we get new ones, you hear?" The wealthy looking Shadow interrupts.

"Yes, boss." The Shadow says, leaving the room and heading back through the hallway to the bar.

"Hey, cutie. Wanna have some fun together?" A fire guardian asks as the Shadow makes his way through the bar, wearing clothing that doesn't leave a whole lot to the imagination, sliding her hand down his chest in a slight attempt to stop him.

"Out of my way, whore." The Shadow says seethingly, pushing the fire guardian out of the way, causing her to fall. Some of the Shadows around the fire guardian laugh at as she falls to the ground, looking hurt.

The Shadow gets back on his horse, riding back toward the mines.

 

"Most of it. You wanna point it out in person? I'll take you back there." She offers, smiling sweetly.

 

"Sure! It's probably more of a feeling thing, anyways."
Crystal make earthen stairs for himself up to Xelentia's back, waiting for permission to actually hop on.

 

Alice seems happy with this worm, amused as she keeps using her lead as long as it keeps moving to relevant places.

Xlentia seems to gently put Crystal on her back via her tail.
"Come on, hon. Takes less time this way, too." She giggles, making it outside to the gardens within seconds rather than minutes.

 

"Yeah."
He says, looking for the flower he saw earlier.

 

From this height, the flower seems to be a centerpiece of sorts, being in the middle of the grand walkway to the entry.

 

"There, the black one in the middle. Do you see it?"
He points out rather vaguely.

 

"Ah, my Void Flower? The one in the protective case?" She asks, lowering down to ground level near it.

 

"Yeah, what's it do? It feels kinda weird."

 

"Well, as it stands, nothing. It grows seeds once a century, but is too fragile to do much of anything else to protect itself. It used to be used to help speed up the healing of wounds in immortals, and was a cure-all gift to those who weren't. Unfortunately, there are currently only three left. I only know where this one is, but one of the ones out there is going to drop the seeds this year." She explains.

 

"Woah."
Crystal takes it all in.
"So you've only had it for one century?"

 

"No, this one's really old. It's in a box since it gets even weaker after it drops seeds; but if you manage to protect it for another centure, it drops more." Xlentia explains, content. "That one's a few thousand years old, so it drops a fair amount of seeds. It just turns out the Hive Ba-aaerm, Master, used it for his own crap. So I get to wait another fifty years to get another shot at healing the wound I received when someone tried to gut me." She growls at the end, before shaking her head slightly and trying to blow it off.

 

"It wouldn't heal itself in that time?"

 

"Not a wound my size." Xlentia sighs. "Hon, if you can keep a secret, I'll show you just how bad it is." She whispers, heading back inside.

 

"Yeah, I can keep a secret. I'll make sure not to talk about it."
He whispers back.
"Why's it such a secret anyways?"

 

"I fear someone with worse intentions than your group will take a shot at my life. It is... much more fragile than it may seem on the outside." She says, locking her chamber doors.

 

"Hm."
Crystal vocally takes note.
