Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

I look at the names under that section, while Crystal actually reads those names.

 

"I-I was hoping to get a job... I'm observant and can write transcriptions of conversations as they proceed..." Alice nervously utters.

 

"What jobs have you had in the past where you have used this talent?" Shadow Stephanie asks, leaning forward, curious about Alice.

 

There are seven, Kyle being one of them.

Crystal reads; "Linoa, Weln, Exen'aal"

"I-I've only ever had dead end jobs... My skills aren't great out on the streets." Alice utters.

 

"Can you tell us what you did in those jobs? Perhaps examples of when your talent assisted you?" I ask inquisitively.

 

"My talent never assisted me in the past... I just know I can from eavesdropping on conversations I hear." She utters, losing her balance.

 

"Then what kind of job were you expecting if you haven't fully used your talent? Many people could easily write down what they hear from eavesdropping. What differentiates you from them?" Shadow Stephanie asks, unimpressed.

 

"U-um... the fact that I know the intentions of twelve gangs and have kept tabs on them for years?" Alice says, barely held-together.

 

"Hey, I'm going to go find Kyle. Are you going to be okay?"
I ask Crystal.
"Yeah, I'll be fine. Nilarq said that he's the only polearm teacher today, so I might just walk around a bit."
"Alright. I'll be off."
I say, walking off, trying to find Kyle, while Crystal walks off back to Xelentia's room.

 

Shadow Stephanie seems rather impressed by this, nodding approvingly.

"So what would your ideal job here be?" I ask, curious.

 

Kyle seems to be in the middle of a duel.

Xlentia is curled up, reorganizing her gold piles.

"I-I dunno. I-I thought o-one of y-you c-c-could-d..."
Alice passes out.

 

I observe.

"Hey."
Crystal says to Xelentia, smiling.

 

"Guards, take her away. I think we've seen enough." Shadow Stephanie says dismissively.

A guard appears next to Alice, picking her up, nodding to Shadow Stephanie and I, and carrying her out of the throne room. The fire guardian Alice spoke to seems rather saddened upon noticing her passed out, heading in to see Shadow Stephanie and I.


When Alice wakes up, she finds herself back in her bedroom in her house.

 

He ends up getting a lucky shot on a suddenly flattened foe, the dome collapsing and the two shaking hands after the fact.
"Hey, Thirteen. Where'd the prodigy go?"

Xlentia looks over at Crystal.
"Hello, there. Liking my palace?" She asks, smug.

She slowly gets up.
"Damnit... so close!" She grumbles, throwing a pillow across the room.

 

There's a knock on Alice's door.

 

"Crystal? Lost a bet with Nilarq, now killing some time. Who's that?"
I gesture to the person Kyle just killed.

"It's nice."
Crystal admits.
"I've only really seen the training area, but that's cool."

 

"Come in!" She yells, frustration in her voice.

"Trainee. Learning the katar." Kyle says, the other draconian going upstairs.

"Glad you like it. I was worried it'd look like hell after everything got torn up."

 

Alice hears her door open, and someone ascending her staircase.

I open Alice's door.

"Hey, you feeling alright?" I ask. Shadow Stephanie can be seen just behind me, waiting outside.

 

Alice just goes bug eyed before locking up.
"I-I-I... I-I'm soooo so so so so sorry, your highnesses..." She utters, practically petrified into a statue.

 

"So, you teach multiple things?"

"It looks very nice, and still works. Not that I know exactly how it works."
