That globe has been there for a while. We just kinda assume it's not canon and just a way to have a fun animated globe.

In 2553 AD, global nuclear war decimated the planet, resulting in a part of the surviving populations having genetic mutations that gave them a whole new blood type, DNA, humongous noses, elongated heads and a weird liking towards robes. The remaining unaffected humans distanced themselves from the other side, believing that their race is impure and could possibly carry new viruses and could affect them. Both communities ignored each other for the next few generations, making themselves home in 2 different continents seperated by a vast ocean.

Milleniums passed, and the planet every slowly healed itself, with Mother Nature replacing the ruins of cities with beautiful forests, prairies and mountains. Once irradiated abandoned cities became lush fields. The very original survivors from the thermonuclear war have agreed not to tell their offsprings about the past of humanity, leaving them to slowly learn from the start. (It should also be mentioned, that Europe, occupied by the humans, was renamed to Wynn and North America, by the big-nosed guys who call themselves Villagers, renamed to Gavel)
Only a very small portion of technology from
the 21st-24th centuries survived, namely computers, intelligent AI, and advanced circuitry. Their current locations are unknown.

Humans established monarchy in war-torn London, later slowly demolished and built a small city called Ragni, residence of the King. Villagers formed their government in what was Washington D.C.,also taken over later by the elements and now stood in its place was Cinfras, capital city of Gavel. Generations and generations of humans and villagers walked across their respective lands, unbeknownst to them that these places once stood magnificent skyscrapers and advanced technologies. Over the centuries, numerous nightmare beings hatched from the ground, no doubt once peaceful creatures recorded in biology encyclopedias and now turned by the effects of radiation. Gavel held them off rather lightly, but Wynn struggled.

Life on Earth progressed on like it did hundreds of years ago, and the dark times of humanity's past were slowly forgotten, erased from the books and the elements. But somewhere out there, there is a elaborate mystery to be solved, a computer code to crack, a laboratory to be found, a person to be discovered, and the forgotten history may soon come to light.
