Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The guard takes the letter, before disappearing completely. The dials in the elevator can be seen being turned, before sliding back to their default positions as the centre dial is turned.

 

Crystal does the standing thing like he did before, and then looks at the crowd.
"Not sure who built this up..."
He mumbles.

 

Alice heads back inside, hopeful as she waits.

"You did." Nilarq laughs. "On three?"

 

A few hours pass, before Alice hears a knock on her door.

 

Crystal back up quite the bit.
"Yeah. On three."

 

Alice gets up, half awake, and opens the door.
"Hulluh?" She utters, looking wiped.

"One... two..."
Nilarq blinks to the opposite side of the arena, ten spears splitting into a hundred.
"...Three."
He seems to be waiting for Crystal to make the first move.

 

Crystal advances slowly, blasting some fire as a prompt.

 

A letter with the palace's seal floats in front of Alice, light gold paper concealing it.

 

Jets of water stop the flame as Nilarq chuckles.
"A bit too brave. Respectable, though. Come on; make an opening."

Alice takes it and somewhat carefully opens it, rubbing her eyes.

 

Crystal advances more, locking eyes with Nilarq and looking like he's about to make a move.

 

Nilarq's eyes seem hollow.
"Don't make this too easy. Watch your back."

 

There's a blinding flash, seemingly originating from Crystal's eyes before he hooks onto Nilarq's spear, one of his eyes shifted to his back.

 

He hooks one of Nilarq's spears, but a combination of magma and blinding light forces Crystal to the opposite wall, Crystal barely able to avoid the earthen spears waiting to skewer him there.

 

Inside, the letter reads:
"Dear Miss Alice,

Your request for a meeting with the great King of Shadows at the Shadow Palace has been accepted.

Your meeting has been scheduled for the 13th of Xice, at 4pm. This letter is confirmation of your meeting with the king, and is to be shown to the on-duty guards outside the palace and throne room at the appropriate time for your meeting in order to validate your person. Please do not lose it, as this may lead to a voiding of your meeting, and a re-request will be required. Additionally, you are not to bring any weapons to your meeting with the king. Any weapons you have must be either left behind or given to the guards outside the palace, where they may be re-collected after your meeting. If you are found with weapons whilst meeting the king, you may be subject to jail time, exile or death, depending on the severity of the weapons found.

If you are late or fail to arrive to your meeting with the king, your meeting may be voided, and you will not receive repayment of the money required to arrange a meeting. It is advised to aim to arrive at least half an hour before your meeting is due, in case of any complications you may find travelling, with security or other reasons. Do not anger the king during your meeting, he is not one to be toyed with, and false or meaningless meetings may lead to death.

Not worrying about his own spear, Crystal shifts into a snake mid-flight with both his eyes back into place. Landing, he takes one of the earth spears and puts them on his back. He then re-focuses onto Nilarq, as a snake with a spear on his back.

 

"Wurf... waken uff..." She says, collapsing to sleep in the doorway.

"One..." Nilarq howls, a wave of electrified water crashing onto Crystal from seemingly nowhere, wave pushing him away from Nilarq.

 

Crystal ends up being a bit too thin for his rock-like self to negate damage from the wave, but he then quickly re-adjusts and starts swiftly slithering near Nilarq.

 

Nilarq slams a wall of spears in the ground, elements making the gaps between them dangerous to slide through.
He jumps back, keeping distance from Crystal.

 

Crystal quickly examines the elements, seeing if there might be any he can affect.

 

Every element in present. There's no practical way to turn the wall against Nilarq before he slices you.
Speaking of which, he swings a few earth spears wide to try and get a lucky shot.
