Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Crystal tries freezing the first two, dodging the third, and blocking the the fourth and fifth.

 

Alice seems to be able to move forward, but after a fair amount of failures, gets tired of falling and groans.
"Thanks for trying, but I think I'm a bit old for this." She sighs.

The fifth spear hits a lot harder than he expects, knocking him all the way back to the edge of the dome.

Nilarq cringes.
"You good? Earth is a little subtle. Good job on the other four, though."

 

"Oh...alright. We could always do something else, Abigail seems fairly happy here anyway." Katie says, glancing over at Abigail who seems to be doing some advanced, and very dangerous looking, tricks.

 

"I-it's fine." Alice says, smiling nervously. "I don't want to get in the way of your friendship stuff. I'm just a peasant with a dead-end job, anyways. Nothing special like you or Abigail." She sighs.

 

"Well, I used to just be a water guardian who stayed at home a lot of the time. Anyone can be special, and you certainly won't stand a chance if you think you're not!" Katie says happily, smiling.

 

Alice looks up, smiling.
"Thanks. Maybe I should try looking around again. Um... do you think the palace would even hire me looking like this?" She asks nervously, looking at her ragged robe.

 

"You might want to get some better clothing, actually..." Katie says, looking Alice over, "I'm fairly sure the palace has somewhere where you can get new clothes."

 

"Yeah... I think."
Crystal gets up, and picks up his spear.
"So is there a trick to knowing what's a earth weapon?"

 

"I dunno... I heard a draconian came and started selling robes at a clothing shop in town. I haven't seen one of my form's kind in a while, but I don't even know what color to get. I don't do well with magic or elements or anything..."

 

"The shops are fairly expensive if you want new clothes," Katie says, "But...well, what types of magic are you most tied to?"

 

"Unfortunately, it's never obvious until it hits harder than anticipated." Nilarq says.

"I dunno. As a shadow, I can do shadow things, but I can't, like, summon water or fire or bend rocks or anything."

 

"Well, I know Aj often wears black, so maybe some dark coloured clothing in your favourite colour? Maybe mixes of red and black?" Katie suggests.

 

"Can I try something?"
Crystal envelopes the frost spear in his hand like before, but it seems that's not what he wants to try.

 

"What is it?" Nilarq asks, patient.

"Haha, yeah! I could dress like another legendary figure! Except I'm pretty sure this one really is just a story." Alice says, mood lifting.

 

"Which story?" Katie asks, cocking her head slightly, curious.

 

"Throw an earth spear at me."
Crystal says, one again increasing the length of his spear like before using ice.

 

"The Wandering Swordsman! Someone who seldom spoke one day just left civilization and just... reportedly looked for answers. Nobody knows why or what he wanted to answer, but he wore a red and black robe. Since he left, his legacy is a bunch of rumors of sightings every few centuries."

Nilarq throws an earth spear straight at Crystal.

 

"Wow! Cool! You could be just like him!" Katie says excitedly.

 

"Except I wouldn't just go around on my own. Still, maybe it'd help my confidence?" Alice asks, laughing a bit.

 

Instead of blocking it with the encased spear, Crystal increases the amount of ice and slams it into the projectile spear.
