Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"It's fine, thank you. I'll just be staying inside tonight." Alice says, getting ready to head downstairs.

 

"Very well, Miss Alice." The voice says, before hanging up.

 

Alice puts the phone back and heads downstairs, checking her belongings for anything missing or tampered with.

 

Everything from her house is in the living room, including her furniture; somewhat irrelevant with the already provided furniture. The only tampering visible on the belonging are hard-to-see handprints where they were presumably picked up and put down.

 

She telekinetically pushes her furniture off to the side as she goes through her filing cabinets, making sure nothing's missing.

 

Everything is where it should be, the cabinets don't seem to have been even opened since she last opened them.

 

She lets out a sigh of relief, moves the cabinets to her bedroom, and then, still weary, goes back to sleep for the night.

 

The bed is as soft as ever, and Alice finds no trouble falling back asleep under the comfy covers of the bed.

 

She wakes up in the morning, then sorts her folder papers back in her filing cabinets before leaving the house.

 

The hallway outside her house is oddly empty for a 24/7 guarded house, though Alice can feel a presence lingering within it. A small note with drawings lies stuck to the elevator at the end of the hallway.

 

Alice rushes forward and checks the note, curious.

 

The note reads:
"Dining Hall Code:" with drawings of how the dials in the elevator should be turned.

 

Alice enters the combination, taking the note with her.

 

Alice is teleported outside of the dining hall, pleasant smells coming from behind the doors to it. The guard nods to Alice when he sees her, ready to let her through.

 

Alice heads to the door, slipping the note in the pocket of a tattered robe.

 

The guard opens the door, releasing a myriad of delicious smells and a crescendo of noise as people talk in the dining hall. It appears to be quite full, many people eating their breakfasts to start the day.

 

Alice, again, looks for a relatively empty area before sitting down.

 

Luckily, there's an empty table partways into the dining hall.

Shortly after sitting down, a waiter walks over to Alice.

"What can I get you?" The waiter asks, smiling.

 

"Waffles with butter and syrup, then tea."

 

"What kind of tea would you like?" The waiter asks respectfully.
