"Yes, sir." Alice says, obeying.

Nilarq grins.
"Don't wait for an opportunity. Make one."

 

The guard heads into the elevator, turning the dials. Once Alice enters, the pair are teleported to a luscious, albeit short, hallway, a pair of doors at the end. Chandeliers hang from the ceiling, and armoured statues line the hallway on a soft, carpeted floor. The guard walks toward the doors at the end of the hallway.

 

Alice keeps following, licking the blood off her tail so it doesn't get everywhere.

 

Crystal swiftly lunges, aiming for Nilarq's body, ready to recover from a counter strike if he doesn't quite hit.

 

This allows Nilarq to push Crystal's spear aside, leaving him open.
"Make openings for you, not me." He chuckles, also taking a step back.

 

The guard opens the doors at the end of the hallway, revealing a front room of a house.

"This is where you shall be staying under our protection. It is a large house, complete with kitchen, bedroom, library, living room, music room, technology room and other various rooms," The guard explains, "You will find a phone in your house, where you can contact any part of the palace by dialling it's associated number. You may order food or ingredients from the palace kitchens, or go there yourself should you desire to."

 

"Thank you, sir. This means a lot and takes a lot of stress off my spine." She says gratefully.

 

"I'm glad it does. This hallway will be guarded twenty four seven, and we will know immediately if anyone other than yourself enters the house. You're free to use the palace's facilities, such as the massage parlour, pool, and training area if you so wish. You'll be guarded as you do, however," The guard says, "I suggest you go and get settled into your new home. Your items from your previous one will be brought as soon as they are gathered."

 

"Understood. Thank you." Alice says, bowing as she starts familiarizing herself with the house.

 

The doors close behind her once she enters. A living room resides to the right, an unlit fireplace and television easily visible from the doorway. A small library resides to the left, bookcases stacked with various books, ordered neatly. A staircase up to the second floor resides in front of Alice, heading straight upwards.

 

Alice heads upstairs, taking mental notes as she looks for the bedroom.

 

The bedroom seems to be on the right, above the living room. A bathroom resides opposite, a large bath and shower visible within. The bedroom holds a massive, soft looking bed, fit for two or possibly even three people to sleep in. A pair of bedside tables reside at each side the bed, a crystal phone on the right. A strange looking window resides on the left side of the room, the view outside it showing a green field.

 

Alice just flops on the bed, exhausted, and drifts off to sleep.

 

The bed is so soft, Alice finds it incredibly easy to fall asleep.


After a long sleep, Alice is awoken by the sound of a phone ringing.

 

Alice drags herself up and picks it up.
"Hello?"

 

"Hello, Miss Alice," A female voice on the other end of the line responds, "This is your nine o'clock check up call. Is everything alright? Anything you need?"

 

"I'm fine, just woke up... did my stuff get here yet?"

 

"Your items from your home have been delivered, yes. They should be in your living room." The voice on the other end of the line responds.

 

"Okay, I'll go make sure everything's there. Thank you."

 

"No problem, Miss Alice. If you'd like to cancel these calls, or reschedule them for another time, just say so." The voice on the other end of the line responds.
