Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I remember being taken down to the robotics lab mid-surgery... you sure?"

 

"Pretty sure. What are you, half robot or something?" I ask, my annoyance starting to calm.

 

Crystal nods, trying again slightly aside from where he did before, aiming to not hit the notches.

 

"My archives and consciousness are etched into my bones and wireframe... did you remove me from... me?"

He succeeds, and Nilarq applauds him.

 

"Ooooooooh," I say, understanding, "Is there any way of removing yourself from your bones and wires then? Like, putting it in your brain?"

 

"Not really, unfortunately. Too much information, unless you put me in a collosal database. I am still kinda a preserver of old... you know, as old as some gods. Older than most worlds..." She sighs.

 

"Well, your organs seemed fairly fine as they were. I don't get why they weren't working properly." I say, confused.

 

"Maybe because I haven't been alive for a few million years?"

 

"Yeah, but that shouldn't affect how well your organs work considering they're completely fine." I say flatly.

 

"I don't know how to use them subconsciously yet. Lian was helping me relearn, and I would've been fine tomorrow at this rate." She sighs, accidentally coughing up blood.
"O-on second thought, what the hell did you do?!"

 

"Cut you open and put your organs back," I say bluntly, "And if you wanted, I could just implant the knowledge into your mind so you don't have to learn."

 

"The knowledge to do stuff like live normally? Instincts and all that?"

 

"I know how to, so I can just put my memories of how to do that in your brain. I know how most brains work anyway." I say happily.

 

"Hopefully that'll work, thanks. And, um... Emily was wondering if the scribes have recovered yet. They were making great progress, according to her."

 

"Did something happen to them?" I ask.

 

"They passed out opening a portal for Xlentia to see if you were okay."

 

"I would assume so. They're pretty hardy, I doubt they'd kill themselves through magic." I say, before empowering Sophie.

"You ready?" I ask.

 

"Go ahead." She says, calming down.

 

Sophie feels a massive headache grow, before sharp pains begin to spike in her skull. Sophie's vision blurs, and she starts to feel incredibly sick, while at the same time, starting to gain new memories, memories that aren't exactly hers.

After what feels like an eternity, the pain starts to subside, and Sophie's vision starts to get better again, everything returning to normal a few moments before I appear next to her.

"Whew...that should be your subconscious checked out then." I say, looking a little tired out. Sophie feels a lot healthier, or rather, feels like her organs are actually working.

 

"I am both grateful and wish you told me it hurt that much." She chuckles, grimacing.
"Well, I should get back. Rebuilding Alpha's gonna take quite a while."
