    I averaged the bonus damage of every t6 powder, got +18.3, rounded it and got +18 dmg per powder slot. Than I multiplied it by attack speed and added it to the weapon's dps.

    For example
    Hive Dagger - 825 base dps
    5 slots
    5 x 18 = 90
    90 x 3.3 (attack speed value) = 297

    297 + 825 = 1122

    I did this instead of thunder powders since not everyone is gonna use just thunder powders.

    Grandmother without powder has 939 dps. Do you think adding powder to weapon can decrease dps? lol

    So excluding neutral conversion...

    Air powder VI averages 17 damage.
    Earth power VI averages 20 damage.
    Fire powder VI averages 17 damage.
    Thunder powder VI averages 22.5 damage.
    Water powder VI averages 15 damage.

    You mention Marrowwind multiple times; that weapon doesn't exist. I assume you meant Morrowind?

    Is the ambiguity of the damage equation why it's sometimes hard to know if an item is going to be broken/overpowered for its level, or if it will be well-balanced? Is there any real definitive way to say if an item is balanced or not in the first place? The world may never know.

    Well ya see, there is a reason why both the theoretical and the practical exist. The theoretical is what GMs do when planning out a weapon. The practical is basically when the GMs test it out on the GM server OR when it is released onto the actual server. The theoretical is useful for getting a GENERAL sense of how powerful the weapon will be before it gets into play; it also helps prevent damage before it is done. The practical is useful for being able to see the unforeseen consequences and making revisions that might not be noticeable (poison and cactus builds are some unforeseen broken builds; albeit they still need to be fixed).

    Of course through Perfect Imbalance, you create a meta-game that is ever changing and highly interesting; one week a build dominates, then players find a weakness and begin using that build allowing it to dominate the meta-game, but then another build exploits that one's weakness and dominates, etc. BUT you need the experience gained from the practical and the ability of the theoretical to create this sort of meta-game.

    The actual highest posable dps in the game is alka with a melee build with cancer + coi and whatever else you want.
    It's about 10k per hit 4 times per second, doing a dps of 40k to 60k without the use of mana making it higher then any spell, fun facts, tho not a viable build tbh. Your def would be ass without any agi or def, and you have to get up close lol

    Cata does more per hit but not per second, do to mana cost

    Not necessarily- You could negate all of that negative melee with the right gear, and the Super Fast speed on Alka would certainly give a lot of dps. Maybe not quite as much as he described though...

    Still doubtful tho tbh.
