Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Oh, well, I noticed you didn't have a bed in your hideout, so I thought I'd take you here so you don't have to sleep roughly." Lian says happily, smiling.

 

"A-ah... thank you. Also, um... food?" Sophie asks, still dizzy.

 

"Oh, um, we could go the the dining hall. You can order anything you want there, since you worked with the king." Lian says, walking toward the elevator at the end of the hallway.

 

"I don't know what I like. I haven't really eaten before."

 

"You could always order a selection banquet. That has a lot of different flavours and foods," Lian says, "I've always wanted to try one, personally."

 

"Well, you might get a taste seeing as you'll need to empower me for that."

 

"Oh, right," Lian says, heading into the elevator and turning the dials, "Sorry, Miss Sophie, I forgot."

 

"No apologies, only livi-aAHSHI-" Sophie says, falling over in the elevator.

 

Lian quickly catches Sophie before she hits the ground, lifting her back onto her feet.

"Careful, Miss Sophie." Lian says, concerned.

Lian turns the dial, and the pair are transported to an elevator outside a pair of large wooden doors, a large guard standing by it.

 

"Thanks... I guess this is what my sisters meant by starving..."

 

Lian helps Sophie to the door.

"Can my Mistress and I please enter the dining hall? My Mistress, Sophie, worked with the king in the battle against Xlentia." Lian pleads to the guard.

"Hm. Alright, but only Sophie. You can wait outside with me, servant." The tall guard says sternly, opening the door for Sophie.

 

"Sir, I can't eat on my own..." Sophie states. "He was ordered to help me with basic functions of living things... since I've been a puppet for ages."

 

"Very well. Keep him in check and make sure I or any other guards see him stealing food." The guard says sternly, glaring at Lian.

Lian helps Sophie through the door, cowering slightly at the guard.

There's a variety of empty tables in the dining hall, though a lot of them appear to be full or partially seated with mostly Guardians and Shadows.

 

"Just empower me. Lian, just do your job." Sophie says, catching herself on a table as she falls again.

 

"Y-Yes, Miss Sophie." Lian says apologetically, empowering Sophie and helping her sit at a table.

A short while later, a Shadow walks over, dressed in appropriate work clothes for a waiter.

"Hi, what can I get you?" She asks happily.

 

"Order whatever you mentioned earlier." Sophie thinks.

 

"I'll have the selection banquet, please." Lian says through Sophie.

"A selection banquet? Sure! Anything else? Perhaps a drink?" The waitress asks happily.

 

"Water?" Sophie asks.

 

"Alright," The waitress says, writing on her notepad, "Is that all?"

 

"For now, yes."
