Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The cave is very dimly lit, though there's no light opposite the treasure pile.

 

Lian sits opposite the treasure pile, the thought of stealing treasure never crossing his mind. The only indicator of Lian's presence are his red eyes, which disappear momentarily when he blinks.

 

Sophie closes her eyes.
"I'm sorry about Milla. You weren't to blame for her trauma."

 

"It's ok. I'm used to it." Lian says solemnly.

 

"You been to many worlds?" Sophie asks.

 

"Not many, but I'm used to not exactly being treated with much respect." Lian says.

 

"How many you kill?" Sophie asks. "We believe in blood justice, so lower kill count means more mercy."

 

"I've killed many. In a lot of cases it's my job to assassinate people, since I'm a Shadow. I'm not new to murder." Lian says, his words slightly ominous when only his red eyes can be seen in the dark.

 

"Yeah, our cultures don't mix well. As long as they're contracted, you're fine. Otherwise, your punishment would be drowning in your own blood, by my estimate."

 

"I guess contracts have different meaning between our cultures," Lian says, chuckling slightly, "I've killed many people just because my masters have told me to kill them. Whether or not they were deserving of it, I'm not sure. I don't question it though, I'm meant to follow orders."

 

"Thank you.
I respond, walking back over to the dragon.

 

"That counts as contracted. You'd be fine, if not a bit disliked."

Xlentia's tentavles are gently waving as if in an unfelt wind. Not long at all before she recovers enough to stand.

 

Cecil goes off exploring the building, stopping for anything interesting.

 

The moment you step outside, it reeks of death, blood, and those barely surviving.

It's an absolute mess.

 

"Sometimes, I regret having vision."

She continues through the mess.

 

By the time you make it near the entrance, you notice the entire entryway's collapsed.

 

Going over to the tentacles, I lightly brush one with my hand to see how it feels.

 

Is that the only exit?

 

It's cold to the touch, and feels soft even though it has absolutey no give.

The only visible one, at least.

 

"...Huh."
I say to myself, heading over to Xelentia's snout.
