Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Oh, um, ok." Lian says, complying and transporting himself and Sophie to the lab.

The doors into the lab appear to have been melted through, sparks flying as they attempt to close and fail. A trail of the green liquid from the vats leads to the door to the healing room, a circle burnt through it. It appears the guards haven't arrived yet.

 

"You get to the portal room and wait there. I have business here." Sophie commands, cloaking becoming significantly faster as she runs to the room with the vats.

 

"Yes, Commander Sapphire." Lian says, leaving the lab through the elevator.

Upon getting into the healing room, the vat Abigail was being stored in appears to have been melted through, top half of the vat missing. Scientists and Shadows appear to be working on cleaning up the mess made by it. Sophie notices that Katie's vat appears a little melted, that is, until a Shadow and fire guardian see about repairing it.

"We must not let the simulation fault like that again. Allowing anyone to die will wake them up from the stasis, we need to fix it so they can't. We can't have them waking up until they're all ready." A high-ranking fire guardian says to a Shadow working at the terminals to the vats.

"We've captured the loose girl!" The guards announce, carrying Abigail into the healing room and throwing her onto the floor.

"Please try to be a little more respectful to the king's friends, especially those of my kind." The high ranking fire guardian scolds.

"Psh, she's going to be healing anyway." The guard shrugs.

"Uh, ma'am, we have a problem with the elite water guardian, she's waking up!" A Shadow says to the high ranking fire guardian, panicked, working at Aqui's terminal.

"Dammit, not another. We might need to switch to a stronger serum, at least with the water guardians. They tend to be the most resistant to it." The high ranking fire guardian says, annoyed, walking over to Aqui's vat.

 

Sophie quickly forms a telepathic link with Aqui.
"Quick, status. Are you healing in there or not?"

 

"Yes. However, it's not particularly fast," Aqui responds, "We're safe, though. The others seem blissfully unaware and happy, that was, until Abigail got impaled through the head."

The high ranking fire guardian looks Aqui's terminal and clipboard, before leaving the room, returning shortly after with a large liquid container containing a darker green liquid, presumably for the vats.

 

"What's the sim?"

 

"It's almost the same as reality, except, we're not here. Stephanie didn't die, we won the battle and we had a party. We still are, time seems to move differently in here, like a dream," Aqui says, "I think I'm the only one who's aware of it, though. I don't know about the others, but I can remember everything up to being put in here, then there's some kind of...black space. Like falling asleep."

The high ranking fire guardian pours the liquid into a side chute that opens up on Aqui's vat.

"This aught to keep you unconscious until it's time." The high ranking fire guardian says as she pours.

"Be happy you're not here. It's not fun. At least, not for me. Nobody wanted to be put in here, and given the choice, I think they'd want out of the simulation. It's not surprising to see Abigail panicked and broke out." Aqui says, Sophie's connection to her starting to break.

 

"Good luck. I need to bail."

Sophie slides back near the elevator, keeping out of line of sight.

 

The connection breaks as Aqui's vat turns a darker colour of green.


Sophie makes it back to the elevator without much trouble, the only problem being the broken doors which air and earth guardians seem to be working on fixing.

 

She blinks through, leaving no trace, then quickly enters the combination for the portal room.

 

As soon as Sophie turns the last dial, she's teleported to the portal room, Lian waiting by the terminal. It seems the portal is ready to go, it just hasn't opened yet.

 

Sophie takes off her mask.
"Go."

 

Lian opens the portal immediately, it opening fully within a matter of seconds.

 

Sophie goes through.

 

Upon stepping through the portal, Sophie finds herself back in the library, the traded guardians seen working.

 

Sophie hopes Lian comes through quickly.

 

Lian's right behind Sophie.

"Are you feeling alright, Commander Sophie? You seem a little on edge." Lian asks.

 

"Get on Selene and you will tell nobody what I say."

 

"Yes, Commander Sophie." Lian says, obedient, looking around for Selene.

 

Selene's waiting just outaide the library.
