Any Class Help Is There Any Reason To Pandemonium.

As the title says, I'm wonder if there is any build/reason to use pandemonium. Theres terrible elemental defense, and a lot of debuffs.

Pandemonium plus Gambler would actually work in theory. The abysmal negative elemental defenses turn positive if using a "good" Gambler, and putting this combination with items like Post-Ultima and Warchief actually raises your defenses while giving you plenty of damage boosts.

It certainly does need a buff, but there is a niche for it.

They would just add up though, negative + negative is just making it go lower.

 

Actually, it doesn't.

Let's say you have +100 fire defense and +20% fire defense. You then have 100*(100%+20%)=120 fire defense.

Now, let's say you have -100 fire defense and -300% fire defense. You now have -100*(100%-300%)=200 fire defense, which is positive.

 

Essentially Gambler adds 200 in all defenses, while Pandemonium has -200 defenses. Now you have 0 raw element defense, which is multiplied by all of Gambler's percent element defense to create 0 overall element defense. The other items do not affect element defenses. Sodeta Boots with decent lifesteal should cancel the negative lifesteal of Pandemonium given that Pandemonium's lifesteal isn't that bad. The majority of items also give skill points, spell damage, melee damage, and speed to make you fast and decently heavy-hitting. Items like the Royal Blazing Amulet and Ring of Generosity counter some of the hp loss from Pandemonium.

 

But why 0 when you can end up having positive elemental defense with Post-Ultima and Shatterglass?

 

Eh I'm just still not sure whether negative percent defense works with negative raw defense to create positive overall defense.

 

I thought this too and than I was corrected by a mod.

negative x negative remains negative.
He told me that even though it didn't make any sense from a mathematical standpoint, it'd be unbalanced if it was the way I and you thought.

Your example of -100 fire defense and -300% fire defense would give -400 fire defense.

as for the main thread:
II actually quite like it as an item. As stated above, it combo's great with The Gambler.

There are just two downsides with it that prevent me from using it in many builds.
Not the obvious negative elemental defense and health loss.

You should take into consideration that it requires 45 skill points in each skill and that it has SO MUCH NEGATIVE SOUL POINT REGEN!
(srsly, using this item basically makes it so that you HAVE to afk every in a city every now and that if you don't get a good roll on soul point regen. No matter how good a player you are. You gun die/use a scroll/ get stuck/ reset your skill points/ whatever other things you use your soul for. You're gonna lose your soul points.)
