Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

I walk infront of her open eye, giving a slight wave.
"Us."
I start saying, slower than usual.
"If you don't feel well, don't try getting up."

 

"I-I don't know. M-Maybe she d-didn't want you to get h-hurt?" Eve says through tears, her statement seeming to make her worse.

"I can s-show you what I s-saw during the b-battle, if it w-would help." Eve adds tearfully.

 

"M-mortal... agh... h-how... embarrasing..." She groans.

"...Please." Sophie says, shaken.

 

"A king, a queen, their all-powerful friends, a rock, some robots, and an almost-infinite army, more like."
I correct her, still slowly.
"And a few others, like Cecil and Dominus."
Crystal adds, louder and fast than how I spoke.
"You get the point."

 

Eve draws a square in front of her using two hands, which materialises into a light-blue tinted screen. A video begins to play on it, which Eve hands to Sophie. The video seems to be Eve's perspective from when she was being lifted up and away from the horde.

"I-Is that back f-far enough?" Eve asks, tears running down her face still.

 

"I... ugh... why... me...?" She utters. "I can't... what did I..." She trails off, slowly slipping back to unconsciousness.

"No, that's the part of the battle I know. I w-was hoping for what came before that." Sophie clarifies.

 

"Corruption."
I simply respond, stroking her snout.
"Sleep. It gives you energy."

 

Eve takes the screen back, rewinding the video to a point where she seems to be riding into the library.

"I-Is this the r-right place?" Eve asks, showing Sophie the video.

 

"S-still... how could I... be so... so... weak...?"

"I don't r-recognize it, so I... uh... think so."

 

"Sleep. I'll think about it for you."

 

"T-thirteen... is... is that..."
Xlentia exhales, clearly not quite wel enough to get up yet.

 

"That's me."
Clearly Xelentia doesn't want to sleep, so I don't push her.

 

OOC: This turned into a mini wall of text, so I put it in a spoiler so half the page isn't filled with it.

Spoiler: Video

The video shows Eve blasting a draconian in the library with a shotgun, killing them, before looking up to see Myria held over the edge of the top floor of the library. A clear whistle fills the air, chiming four notes.

"Sounds like she needs Aeris' help." I say, Eve turning to face me. A green diamond appears on the centre of my body, showing 'Locked, ally' next to it temporarily.

"I hope she knows what she's doing. If that's the commander, I doubt she'll be an easy kill." Eve says, glancing back to see Aeris running into the library.

The video shows Aeris flying up to a bookcase, then walljumping off and grabbing onto the ledge of the top floor with her boomerangs, Eve's vision zooming in on Aeris. Her boomerangs make a metal click as they attach.

Once Myria is pushed against the ceiling of the library, Aeris throws one of her boomerangs around. A few trails come out of the boomerang, generated by Eve showing the paths it could take to hit Emerald on the head. It takes the most accurate path, whacking Emerald square on the back of the head as Aeris flies to catch Myria.

As the library fills with books, I start talking to Eve again.

"Quick, we need to distract her. I need to get a portal open to get out of here and to grab Ignia so we can burn all her books and remove her power." I say.

"How about a new book?" Eve suggests, "If we fill it with some false lore and make it look magical, we should be able to distract her long enough for you to retrieve Ignia and start burning this library before she knows it."

"Brilliant idea, Eve." I say, summoning a generic looking book and some pretty, but plastic, gems. I quickly stick the false gems to the book and open it, writing some nonsense about how the book is magical and has the power to retain notes written in it in the writers mind.

"Put it in a present, so she has to open it first!" Eve says. Shortly after closing the book, I summon a box and wrapping paper, throwing the book in and wrapping the present, writing a 'Sorry' on a tag.

"How do we get it up to her? She'll probably attack if we try to manually." I ask.

"Uhm...I know! I can detach my hand and remotely send it up." Eve says, pulling off her hand as a small propeller grows out of it. The hand grabs the box and flies off up toward Emerald.

"Protect Myria, if she looks like she's about to lose the battle, fly in and save her. Once I get back with Ignia you can start burning the books with her." I say, cutting open a hole in reality with Shadow Katana.

"I shall." Eve says, turning back to Aeris and Myria, green triangles appearing on both with 'Locked, protect.' next to them.


Eve and the rest of the group are pushed to the library doors, an awkward encounter with Ignia as she almost leaks the plans to burn the library down. Eve logs Emerald's words, a small text box writing them down in the corner of her vision as she speaks, before the group is shunted out of the library shortly after.

 

Sophie's jaw drops.
"I c-can't believe he would even..." She stammers. "Everyone knows she draws from the archives for powee and the books for show!"

 

"We didn't k-know that at the time..." Eve says, still tearful, "I th-think he wanted t-to torture Emerald a b-bit too..."

 

Sophie pauses.
"So, why didn't he torture me? Didn't Ruby tell you guys about us ahead of time?"

"Sh-She sort of did, but she never r-really described you too much," Eve says, "B-Besides, he didn't know it was you. I d-don't think he does even now."

Eve touches the screen, rewinding it to a conversation as she rides on her motorbike.

"Yeah, so it turns out who I thought was this 'Commander Sophie' was actually this dumb draconian called Milla. I wanted to kill her, but her story sort of got to me. Messed me up. I wasn't exactly feeling right either, so I made a deal to let her live. I'm honestly regretting it at this point after all the sass she's given me." I say.

"So why don't you just kill her next time you see her and get her out of the way?" Eve asks.

"I'd rather wait. I was going to torture her, but I'd rather save it for the commander. I think I'll break her legs first, so she can't keep running, then eventually just reduce her to nothing more than a torso and head, then I'll kill her in the most painful way possible."

Eve touches the screen again, forwarding it to when the group was being transported to Xlentia's chamber.

"It's rude to kill someone you just me- WAIT WHAT!?" I exclaim, after hearing about Sophie's identity.

A transparent dark green shoots across in front of Eve, which she turns to see Myria the source of. The hand grabs onto my head temporarily, before disappearing. A slight odd colour tint disappears from the video, the traces of the hand disappearing with it.

 

She's just laying there, silent.
After a pause; "...who's... Ihra? Why... do I remember...

Sophie freezes up in fear.
"H-how could he... I thought he seemed okay..." She utters, stiff.

 

"A person that we sacrificed to get you out of corruption."
