Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

After staring at Sophie for a bit, eyes glowing, Lian replies with "Yes. I can still see you."

Lian begins to walk toward the exit to the lab.

 

Sophie follows him.
"Keep going. I need to rethread Cerise again."

 

"I shall, Miss Sophie." Lian says, keeping up his pace as he heads through the sterilisation room, and further into the elevator. Lian immediately begins turning the dials as soon as he enters.

 

Sophie seems to be right behind Lian.

 

As Lian turns the last dial, he and Sophie are transported to a large open room with a large circular structure, made of a dark purple substance of some sort. A terminal is mounted next to the structure, appearing to be hooked up to it, and Lian briskly walks over to it and begins typing commands.

 

Sophie keeps mostly silent.
"Did you ever hear anyone call me anything other than Sophie?" She asks.

 

"Um, 'A draconian who wasn't breathing'." Lian says, thinking, before smiling back at Sophie.

 

"Okay. I was just worried... I'll explain later."

 

Lian goes back to typing commands into the terminal, before the circular structure suddenly activates, a large portal appearing. Xlentia's library can be seen through the portal.

 

Sophie steps through, a bit surprised at the guardian activity.

 

Lian quickly follows, the portal starting to close behind the pair.

 

Sophie sucks in her breath as she's immediately greeted with "Morning, Commander Sapphire. Good news, you're not fired! Probably."

 

"Miss Sophie, are you alright?" Lian asks, concerned at Sophie's sudden intake of air, before turning to the people greeting her, "I'm sorry, but I think you have Miss Sophie here confused with someone else."

 

"Nope."
"H-heheh... um... yeah... no, I'm exactly that..." Sophie utters nervously.

 

"Oh, I'm very sorry for not knowing of your role, Commander Sophie." Lian says, bowing respectfully.

 

"I was worried you'd turn hostile, actually." Sophie utters. "Your king didn't kill me because he didn't suspect it. Caught me mid-rest."

A massive serpentine construct is visible just outside the library.
"Guess I should work on rethreading Cerise, now."

 

"Why would the king wish to kill you?" Lian asks, confused, glancing at the serpentine construct.

 

"Ask him when he's done relaxing." Sophie says, biting spectral threads and attaching new ones on 'Cerise.'

 

"I don't think it's my place to ask, actually. I-I'm not meant to ask questions a lot of the time, just obey orders." Lian says, realizing his mistake.

 

"Emerald was targeted for some reason. She won't tell me. She's still around here, though."
