Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"'The rock' has a name, y'know."
The thing might be glaring at you, but you can't really tell due to it not having a face, or not having the same face for very long.
"It's Crystal."

 

"Yes, Crystal. In my opion it is simply pointless to memorize names when you know soon enough you're either gonna end up leaving the realm or destroying it." I say, "But anyways, mind giving me some background information about yourself? Like, what you are, where you come from, and all the rest."

 

"Without any background on you, classified."
The thing says. It seems it just wants a bit more info on who you are.

 

"Dominus Terrae, God of Destruction." I say, official-sounding.
"But you may call me Emperor of Perniciosa."

"Anything else you wish to know?"

 

"...Shit."
The thing whispers under its breath, but you can still hear it.
"Look, I wanna keep this more of a secret, okay?"
The thing telepathically says to you. It seems to have a more stable voice connection, now.
"My name's Voidfiller. I'm a being of creation. I created Crystal. I don't know where I originally come from. Anything else?"

 

"That should be fine." I reply telepathically, writing down "Name: Crystal. Species: Unknown."

 

"Thanks."

 

"I... uh..."
"We're sorry for your loss, but-"
"I don't know if you want to be around for her waking up to a very obviously disturbed gold hoard."

Sapphire lets out a sigh of relief before yawning, then looks for a map of the palace or the pair of scientists who had helped her earlier.

 

"Then, dip."
The thing comments.
"We don't really care if you're here or not."

 

"I mean for your sake..."
"You don't seem to have your help here, if she thinks you did this to her treasures."

 

The lab is quiet, nobody else around. It appears to be nighttime, the workstations the scientists were working at mostly clean of the items they worked with during the day. There doesn't appear to be any maps in the lab, though the only way out of the lab would be through the elevator at the end of the entrance room, past the sterilisation chamber.

 

Sapphire attempts to make her way to the elevator.
If successful, she tries random dial inputs until she goes somewhere else.

 

After going through the sterilisation room, she manages to get to the elevator. After randomly turning the dials, she ends up in a kitchen, a few chefs still about preparing food for the morning. A myriad of smells wafts through the air, making Sapphire hungry if she wasn't already. None of the chefs seem to pay Sapphire much attention, continuing their work.

 

She finds it odd that her stomach growls in response, but keeps trying dial inputs until she finds somewhere with a map.

 

After turning a certain set of dials, which comes up with a sound signalling an error, a small cabinet opens up behind Sapphire. A thick book rests inside, the cover reading 'Elevator Dial Codes'. While the book looks hard to pick up, opening it in the cabinet to read seems like a much easier task.

 

She lets out a sigh of relief as she looks for any combinations that lead closer to the barracks.

 

The thing seems to think of a response, while I get one quicker.
"We might not have our help for a while anyways. They took some pretty... heavy damage. We kinda also need to make sure she's not corrupted anymore, so it's not like we have too much of a choice here."

 

The first few pages are a table of contents, presumably meant to be used as a guide to find the dial codes for each area. 'Army Barracks: 20' is listed on the first page, and upon turning to page 20, Sapphire finds a picture of a combination that will hopefully lead to the army barracks.

 

"Well, I wish you luck, but we're getting as far from her chambers as we can before she stirs..."
"Don't die!"

Sapphire tries the combination.

 

Upon turning the last dial, Sapphire is immediately teleported to the army barracks. A pair of doors at the end of a large hallway seem to be the exit, while a large amount of doors line the hallway, presumably sleeping quarters. It would probably be in Sapphire's best interest not to make too much noise, lest she risk waking up the army that fought Xlentia.
