Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

It still hardly damages the tablet, though it's still cracked.

The horde starts evading and countering the storms, some teleporting through, others just resistant to the elements.
They don't seem to care that Xlentia is knocking them over as she turns towards the shaking part of the heap and headbutts it, her tentacles starting to form a sigil.


Xlentia's getting dangerously close to Ihra, who's unconscious but glowing, partially hidden behind a statue.

 

"Swords! Tell me about 'fight or flight.""

 

Abigail and Ignia continue their assault, multiplying their damage by half.

Xlentia is met with a massive headache as the gold pile hardly moves, hard as a mountain. Noticing Xlentia's tentacles, I fly through them quickly, slicing them apart and cutting into them. Myria and Mortimer sneak through the battle, grabbing Ihra and moving her away from Xlentia. Aeris starts chaining lightning both into her tornadoes and through the horde as Aqui forms icy walls to block them.

 

"Fight or flight means fight or get the hell out..."

The gold apparently has to be harder than a mountain to stop Xlentia from plowing through it.

Again, your blade isn't big enough, but you find your teleportation suppressed as spirits start swarming you, trying to get you away from Xlentia's tentacles.

The ice cuts off any who haven't got in.
About a hundred draconians are chasing Eve, her teleportation suppressed as well, as Xlentia inhales deeply, mouth covered with her front feet.

 

"Oh you just gave me A FIGURATIVE FLIGHT?!"

 

"You're not cooperating enough for actual flight... nor do you have wings."

 

Xlentia sees a massive spectral needle in front of her right eye for about a second before it jams deep into her skull, most likely blinding her eye, before it harshly pulls out, attempting to bring the eye with it.

I decide to focus on one tentacle at a time, evading the spirits as best I can as I chop through the tentacles like a lumberjack through trees.

Eve shields herself and Stephanie as she flies away, Stephanie attacking her voodoo eye. Eve fires toward the draconians with mini-missles, knocking them out of the air. A massive hand of gold rises out of the pile, grabbing one of Xlentia's front feet and twisting it.

 

Furious, the room quickly starts to fill with hypnofire, the spirits too evasive for Eve to pick off before they reach you.

"Shadow... this palace is not yours..." Xlentia roars, smashing the gold hand with her foot.

An odd glow emanates from her tentacles, slowly extending towards Stephanie.

 

I decide to jump off of Xlentia and back into the pile of gold. Shortly after, a large golden golem begins to slowly form, climbing out of the pile after the hand is smashed. Smaller golden golems with red-coined eyes form, running toward and around Xlentia whilst attacking her.

Eve flies Stephanie far away from Xlentia as fast as she can, her shields still protecting both Stephanie and herself. Abigail and Ignia continue their assault while Xlentia is distracted, setting up more powerful blasts by stacking explosives. Xlentia's left eye begins to become attacked, however this time it isn't from voodoo pins, it's from wooden arrows.

 

Xlentia seems to ignore the golems, blocking Eve from leaving her chamber via a barrier and jumping after her, swatting Ignia with her tail from behind.

 

Eve quickly flies upward to avoid Xlentia's attacks.

The large gold golem crawls out from the pile, before reaching back in and throwing a large clump of gold directly at Xlentia's head.

Ignia tries to avoid the tail, but gets hit and thrown against a wall. A tornado boomerang flies toward Eve to assist her.

 

Xlentia engulfs the upper half of her chambers in hypnofire, trying to force Eve down while diving towards Abigail, trying to swipe (more like bash) her with her claws.

 

Eve's shield seems to protect from the hypnofire, at least currently. Aeris' boomerang seems to dispel some of the fire, creating a temporary safe zone for Eve.

Abigail sees this in advance, immediately flying to dodge the attack.

Having been given enough time to fully form, a massive golden golem rises out of the gold pile, before punching Xlentia incredibly hard. Gold flies off the golem as it attacks, however it simply regrows its missing parts. The smaller golems run toward the main gold golem, strengthening it.

 

Anticlimactically, this barely moves Xlentia off to the side.
Nobody near her tablet, she quickly etches another part of the glyph. It begins to glow.
She continues filling the room with hypnofire. She must be getting desperate...

 

"Let's move!"
I say to Crystal, as I jet towards the tablet as fast as possible, hoping to ram it.

 

She apparently can't see you, but ramming it... doesn't do much other than crack it more and hurt Crystal.

 

"Not again, it hurts me, more."
"Alright. I've got another thing."
Unhinging the crossbow at my side, I dig through my quiver, trying to find an arrow with a black stripe.

 

Katie takes her only opportunity to run up and attack the tablet herself, blasting it with water which gets in the cracks before freezing, then melting and freezing again repeatedly.

The gold golem seizes one of Xlentia's tentacles before pulling it apart with massive strength.

 

Doesn't take long.

Pieces break off the tablet, but it doesn't seem to be cracked enough to completely break the sigil.

The golem can't get a strong enough grip on Xlentia's tentacle. She rears back to throw the golem off balance before diving at Katie.
"You... don't... know... ANYTHING!!" She roars.

 

"Pardon the intrusion, Miss Xlentia. I wish that you would not attempt to burn me alive with the others, as I am neutral in this fight."
