As the oldest cataclysm user (yes I am) I approve, you nailed how to build it right
Your build is pretty much a balanced version of mine with better elemental defence in exchange of a bit mana and damage which I totally agree I just don't make balance build anymore coz it's boring when you have 10 end game class and all are similar

Fuck all my other plans, I'm going melee water damage on my warrior. That shit is op.

4 armor pieces with concentration:

+20% / mana used
+ 4 seconds / mana used

1 no-intelligence uppercut (10 mana):
+200% damage for 40 seconds.
And that's assuming that you can't stack this special by casting two uppercuts after eachother.
(can anybody tell me if this ignores defenses, like the rage special does. And do other armor specials ignore defenses as well?)

I do not know if concentration goes through elemental defenses, but what I know is it hurts like crap. I abused it in my Nirvana build and I could kill pretty much anything in 1-3 spins if I nailed the mana management (is that a word lol).

Anyways, that looks like a cool build, let me know how it works out! :)

It's basically the same as mine with less mana but very slightly more health with "SLIGHTLY" MORE CANCER AAAAAA STAAAWP :DDD

Try going Vaward + Anima-Infused.
That was my second option, but it lacks health- and mana regen. It will have slightly more damage, though.

The missing health regen will hurt your PvE experience the most.

 

Cata can deal over 2k thunder DPS, and even Qira only has 1000 defence per element, so it's DPS isn't normally cut short heavily, even against high thunder defence mobs.

 

Have you considered 2 fire 6 1 thunder 6 on cataclysm? That way, you can use courage, which is broken as anything

it's true that this is the most fun, but I'm workign on a "catch me if you can" cata build as i like to call it. Basically you'll probably have 5 health or something, but so much walk speed and agility and mana they wont get you if you're skilled. Then suddenly you pop up too close and they're dead. It'll be hard but I've been playing glass canon in any game ive ever played, thats just how I roll I guess.

I do like the build though

That sounds pretty evil to do a build like that :D
The problem is any amount of thorns will destroy a low hp Cata build, and pretty much any little fail in agility as well. But it works, whenever your agi works and you are not dueling a cactus/semi-cactus.

I will not, and even that offer will probably make me regret.
Cataclysm just cannot be replaced, it is something different. I had to try every other mythic to realize that.

But I guess I've done my part in making a balanced public build for it, now people have an actual idea on what to do with it. It might be time for me to let it go and for someone else to enjoy it.
