Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Aeris checks to make sure none of the punctures in her clothing are exposing anything underneath. While she wears a thinner outer layer of clothing and a slightly thicker inner layer, she can't help but turn a little red.

"M-Maybe I should've taken m-my armour..." Aeris says to herself, embarassed.


The boulder shakes violently again, before calming down. A few pieces of rock drop off the boulder.

 

"There's no maybe about it." Sapphire says, taking off a headpiece. Turns out she doesn't cloak - her armor does.
"I swear, e-everyone's out to get me..."

Milla unravels the net, then gets up to take a closer look.

 

"Is she open to telepathic communication?"

 

"Not currently, no."

 

"Does she accept a white flag as neutrality?"

 

"I-I think I might need a change of clothes, t-too." Aeris says, still embarassed.


It's a sturdy looking boulder, formed from hard looking rock. A few pebbles and pieces of boulder lie around it. It seems a great deal of strength would be required to push it.

The boulder starts shaking violently again, the ground shaking.

 

"That or a sign of weakness..."

Sapphire glances at the boulder.
"Is... there actually someone inside that?"
Milla smiles.
"If there is, you owe me one!"

 

"Is there any other way I can tell her that I wish to be neutral?"

I pull Crystal over, and we talk very quietly.

Spoiler: The Talk

"Are you doing okay?"
"Yeah. I think I'm fine."
"You think?"
"Well, I didn't really get attacked, so I'm kinda fine, but..."
"But what?"
"I didn't expect this. I've seen dragons before, but what happened down there... it was ridiculous. It almost felt like there wasn't going to be anything we could do, but here we are."
"Welcome. That's what it feels like a lot of the time."
"Does it?"
"Either that, or we're not really making progress."
Crystal smiles.
"Anyways, I'm going to need your help with something."
"Oh! Really?"
"Yeah, I'll tell you about it once we get there. Just prepare."
"Okay, I guess..."

 

Aeris gets up, walking over to me briskly before explaining her predicament.


The boulder rolls in place, before shaking slightly.

 

"Keep out of the fight is the safest bet, sorry..."

Sapphire and Milla just watch intently.

 

"Then it shall be so."

 

The boulder stops moving for a bit, almost long enough to dispel the belief it will ever move again until suddenly shaking violently, a few more shards of the boulder dropping off, but nothing to damage its
integrity.


Aeris looks around the group nervously as I disappear, leaving my cup behind.

 

Sapphire seems concerned.
"Please don't break Selene..."

Milla seems awkwardly excited, anticipation making her frustrated.

 

The pattern repeats, shaking then calming, each time a bit more boulder falling off.

 

Milla just waits, excited, as Sapphire can be seen climbing out of the construct's mouth.

 

The boulder just keeps shaking, occassionally jumping up and down slightly in an attempt to break more pieces off. However, considering the size of the boulder and the pieces falling off, it'll take quite while at the rate it's going to reveal its centre.

 

Milla weaves a thin net around the boulder, shaking it a bit to somehow cut into the rock ever so slightly.

 

Milla seems to shake it as it shakes violently, causing a lot more damage to the boulder as larger chunks fall off.

 

She lets the net unravel as the boulder size gets close to a size where a person might be within.
