Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Myria and I work on destroying the first barrier while Mortimer attacks the second.


Ignia lays Aeris down in the shield, and she seems to get a little bit better.

"She needs air." Ignia says to Stephanie, before getting back on Eve's motorcyle and riding back off into the palace.

Stephanie puts a clear crystal on Aeris' chest, which seems to pulse clean air. Aeris soon starts to recover.

 

The emerald on Aeris' forehead seems to be accelerating the process.

Mortimer finds Abigail, Iruk, and Thirteen at a barrier. Iruk and Thirteen seem to be chatting with Abigail as a bit of a third wheel.

 

Mortimer just charges the barrier and starts attacking it.

 

He jars his shoulder after one swing; the barrier doesn't seem to have any give this time.

On the other end, you and Eve are met with constant barrages of projectiles coming through.

 

The pair of us use our old technique of grenade baseball to dispel the crowds, taking the hits. Eve occasionally drops energy land mines behind her, which explode into massive blasts of energy when stepped close to.

 

Nobody's on your side of the barrier.

 

OOC: Well, now I look like an idiot.

Eve drives straight for the barrier, swerving around the projectiles as she prepared a quartet of grenades. As soon as she's within range, she throws the quartet of grenades in front of her gun and fires, sending the grenades flying toward the barrier. One of the grenades prematurely implodes, sucking the other grenades in with it. The resulting implosion is almost an eighth as strong as a black hole, and the following explosion knocks Eve and I off the mototcycle as we ride away.

 

And... the barrier just seems to have been warped, soon returning to its original position.


The creatures that make up the palace, however, are much more affected. There's a bit of a corpse heap now.

 

Eve and I get back on the motorcycle, before driving close to the barrier. However instead of directly attacking it, Eve decides to throw a couple of grenades at the wall next to it.

 

The creatures seem to disapprove, hissing and spitting to keep the grenades away from them.
Not like it matters with the implosion/explosion...

You can hear a quiet rumbling sound, the ground shaking slightly.

 

Eve looks up to the top of the barrier.

Sooo...What the hell happen?

 

It goes through the ceiling.

After everything in the library died down, everything's mostly back to normal.
Seems the commander is the librarian.

 

Eve turns around and rides back out of the palace, noting the location of the barrier.

Once getting out of the palace, Eve parks her motorcycle in the shield before starting to fly to the top of the palace while I trail behind.

 

Cecil casually walks out of the library.

"Gods, they are aggressive as hell."

 

The barrier seems to be a sphere of sorts.

An odd lizard-like creature scurries away at your comment, seeming to merge back with the palace walls.

 

She is just going to stare at the lizard's last known position.

 

After some thinking, which doesn't take long for Eve, Eve puts her hand on the barrier and tries to drain some of the energy from it.

 

It looks to be a decorative column, but the lizard opens its eyes, seeming to come out of the column, and hisses at you before returning to its position in the decor.

Eve finds herself slightly drained instead, the barrier expanding slightly.

 

Eve attempts the reverse, putting some energy into the barrier.
