Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Fine." I say, careless.

Ignia suddenly pushes past Emerald before sprinting through the library. A heavy crash can be heard soon after.

 

Emerald turns to Ignia, worried.

The doors open.

 

A few feathers can be seen drifting down from the upper floor of the library, as well as a single boomerang which comes loose and falls to the ground to where Ignia is running.

 

Emerald looks over, checking for the source of the feathers.

 

A fainted Aeris lies at the crash area, wings spread out to the sides. Ignia carefully picks her up, her body falling limp with her wings.

 

Emerald glances at Ignia, then turns to you.
"Get the thought of killing me out of your head. I intend to bind you to your commitment."

I fly low, keeping up with Iruk and Abigail, occasionally dropping lower for a slice.

 

"I'm more concerned for my comrade, actually." I say, glaring at Emerald.

 

After a couple kills and getting around a few parries, the few that remain, once again, retreat.

"Technically your underling. Still, I have one more proposition for you..." She says, wary of you.
"You provide scribes, and I will heal her where she lies. Accept or decline, you must tell me whether you wish your group's abilities be supressed or Xlentia heals her wounds as they're inflicted."

 

I fly up to Iruk's level.
"Any idea of what's next?"

 

"I'll provide scribes after the battle. I'm sure we can heal Aeris back at camp," I say, suspicious, "And what abilities are you supressing specifically? Can't you null your effects tracked onto a being?"

Ignia brings Aeris back over to the group. Oddly, she appears free of bruises or any kind of harm from the fall, however her breathing is deep, slow and raspy.

 

"That precision is taxing, and Miss Myria was at my throat for prioritizing my job over your convenience. I have even more work to do now that half of the language learning and translation books are dust."
Emerald places a small namesake gem on Aeris' forehead, her breathing marginally less raspy.
"Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to make a list of the books that require reprinting, finish tallying the damage on Xlentia's statue collection, tend to the traumatized in here, help someone find books on Eldritch Monstrosities, continue..."
Her voice trails as she realizes you don't care.

"No magic on the next one. It can only be damaged by purely physical objects."

 

"Eldritch Monstrosities?" I ask, curious, "We have one of our own. She's called Stephanie."

Ignia awkwardly hands me Aeris' boomerangs, which I take.

 

"I sensed her. Nothing I haven't seen before, however. You may want to offer her the common tongue translation after the battle." Emerald offers.

 

"How convenient."
I comment, preparing.

 

"If she's still like that." I say, shrugging.

Most of the group seem to be headed toward the door.

 

"You think that sword's going to tear down that size of barrier in a timely fashion?" Iruk asks, redundancy in his tone.

"I'm holding you to those scribes, so you best not lose this fight now!" Emerald calls out after you, smiling somewhat before heading back to the Archives.

 

"No."
I respond, straight.
"I think three flying people and a sword can at least damage it."

 

Ignia gets on the back of Eve's motorcycle with Aeris in hand, and the trio ride back to the entrance. Motimer, Myria and I split up, looking around for any barriers.

 

"I don't have an unenchanted weapon. Abigail has enchanted, Aj has enchanted... any other ideas?"

There seems to be one more barrier on each end before the two hallways merge. A massive increase in shiny golden objects suggest that Xlentia isn't far.
