Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Oh, right." Abigail says.


"At the same time, you're weakening us by stunting our abilities." Myria says.

There's a strange, metallic sounding click.


Eve swerves at the next turn, looking for any barriers or blockades.

 

Iruk rains electrified pain onto the remaining troops, being scratched by the flurry of weapons.

"I was not aware of the side effect until now. However, if you opt to try and kill me, know that I will resist. It was hard enough for me to aid those who sided with Ruby."

She's passing by the entrance, a creature sniffing at Ihra, though not harming her.

 

"You ok?" Abigail asks, assisting with fireballs.


"Then perhaps we can strike a deal. You give us our powers back, and I don't kill you." Myria says.

There's another metallic click.


Eve swerves and heads toward the library, before taking the next right.

 

"Armor integrity is still decent. Ballistae are taking their toll, though."

"If I do so, they will be able to heal and clone. I will stop if you wish, but know your choice is irreversible." Emerald says, distracted.

There is no right. The library hall is just one giant hall.

 

"Alright." Abigail says, content with Iruk just being ok.


"Then I've clearly overestimated your abilities." Myria says, shaking her head disappointedly.


Eve sticks with it, heading into the library.

 

After a while, there's another retreat.
"Still can't see the end of the damn hall..." Iruk mutters.

"No, you haven't. I'm just not willing to stop doing my job. Since it's my job."

She's met with a loud "SHHHH!"

 

"Where the hell is Xlentia anyway!?" Abigail says, frustrated.


"Perhaps you won't need to." Myria says, glancing over the edge to the people below.


Eve shotguns the first draconian who shushed her to prove a point.

 

"Holed up in her chambers, trying to kill Ihra."

Emerald seems irritated.
"You cannot force me to do your bidding. I gave you an offer, and if you want your powers back, I'll stop suppressing them. My job performance is non-negotiable, though."

She wipes out about a thousand books, everyone else falling silent.

Emerald pauses.
"You wouldn't dare do that again. Miss Myria, your group has done nothing for me but caused me pain when I attempt to aid you. If my help is unwecome, I request you do not destroy my library. It'd be like Ruby destroying Aj's palace because Aj tried to help her."

 

Abigail sighs, continuing on.


"Then you lied when you said I hadn't overestimated your abilities." Myria says, disappointment in her voice.

 

"How have you overestimated me? I am capable, but you give me less and less reason to."

 

"I believed someone of your...magical ability, would be able to nullify your effects within the radius of certain beings." Myria says.

 

"I can. Again, I won't. And unless your group can foot the cost and workhours of those books you destroyed, I am not negotiating." Emerald says, getting frustrated as her horns pulse gently.

 

"Then you'll face the consequences of your ignorance and foolishness when your time soon comes," Myria says, getting ready to jump, "Karma is quite the double edged sword."

Myria jumps off the edge of the balcony, facing Emerald as she does.

 

Emerald wastes no time slamming Myria telekinetically against the ceiling.
"KARMA THIS, WARMONGER!" She shouts, audible throughout the library.

 

Myria manages to reorient herself to land upside-down on the ceiling just before she hits.

Emerald's focus is soon broken as she's hit heavily on the back of the head with an extremely hard and slightly sharp object.

 

This makes her drop Myria as she scans to see who's behind her.
"Fear my knowledge, barbarians..." Emerald mutters.

 

There's...nobody at all?

Myria seemingly falls to the ground, at least, from the perspective looking from the level Emerald is on would grant.

 

Emerald blinks, breaking any influence over her you or Eve had.
"Get out of my library. NOW. DEAL'S OFF."

 

Eve and I are still on the ground floor.

"I was hoping you'd say that." Myria says from Emeralds side. She seems to have somehow got on the opposite side of the floor from Emerald.

 

The doors slam shut.
"You kill indiscriminantly... I'll see how your daughter feels about this!" Emerald shouts.

Hundreds of thousands of books fill the room, suppressing every form of magic and energy manipultion within - aside from Emerald.
"YOU MAY HAVE FOUND SUCCESS WITH BRUTE FORCE - LET ME SHOW YOU THE POWER OF KNOWLEDGE!" She roars.
