I have a number of old diamond items, whose current models are now steel.

Are these items allowed to be sold for higher rates, due to their aesthetic rarity?

(or is it against Wynncraft's trading rules)

I would appreciate some insight! :)

No. They have the same stats. It's 100% visual and it's hardly a change anyway.

You can try and sell them for more, but few people will buy them for a higher price.

To clarify, is it against trading rules to sell for more?

Since "trading rules" are essentially unspoken, not really. It's just that nobody will buy them.

Well, I've seen people who are willing to pay a decent sum for no longer available aesthetics/items. So I believe there is a market for them. (Case in point as seen below).

I just want to be sure that it is within the rules -- as enforced by staff.

It's helpful to have a direct example from what moderators have told you. Thank you for sharing that!

Sounds like the answer to my question is:
Selling old end game armor for more is a banable offense.

You aren't allowed to jack up the price due to the texture, but people can still pay more based on the texture.
Speaking of which, what items do you have with the old textures?

All those change a lot more than the difference between old and new armours. Not to mention you'll almost never be looking at armours.

All the former end-game armors. And a number of old weapons that still have the glistening powder effects on them.
    ________________________________
Thank you for including this thought. I agree, many people are very particular about their cosmetics --even slight changes. Additionally, many people like to collect items that are no longer obtainable.
    ________________________________
You are correct, the aesthetic effect is not as great as other cosmetic effects and on average most players don't care about the difference.
However, there are still many others who are interested in collecting such armor. If not for the difference in looks, purely because they are no longer obtainable in-game
