Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Flying."
I answer, strait.
"Sorry about not being on time."

 

"Well, we got bigger problems now. How's Crystal?"

 

"Not sure. Maybe a little shaken, but you'd have to ask him. He's taking care of Ihra, currently."

 

She looks at the three pathways.

"I'm voting to go straight."

 

"This is when I wish I still had swords." He sighs, matching your movement.

That part of their abilities seems to be suppressed.

Abigail and Ignia don't get far until they hit another barrier, about two squadron's distance down.

Myria is met with small wounds from a few remaining draconians, but most of her troubles seem to be on the spiritual plane.

Mortimer finds a mostly evacuated library, the few draconians that remain engrossed in their books. It's still as silent as you'd expect a library to be.

 

"Then go."
I say, flying up into the air, preparing.

"Stick together?"
I ask.

 

Myria powers through, vigilent.

"Excuse me, would you know the locations of two draconians that suppress elemental abilities?" Mortimer asks a draconian casually.

 

"There's a library in here!"

 

I nod back, conversing with Iruk.

 

Does Cecil's yelling trigger anyone?

 

"Please." Iruk mutters, still following you.

Someone yells "Shh!"

What seems to be disturbances becomes dagger jabs and arrows. It'd be wise to fall back and get someone to deal with the Ethereals.

"We're not given that knowledge." One whispers back. "Now, please, leave me." They respond, not bothering to look up.

 

In that case, Cecil is going to grab a book and read. Even if she doesn't understand it.

 

I take half a second to analyze.
"Left. Less people have gone that way."
I say, diving to the left path.

 

Myria takes the safest route back the the group, regretting giving up.

Mortimer leaves, heading back and taking the right path.

 

It's written in another language, but there seems to be a hanging sign written in the same language the book is in.
"COMMON TONGUE" seems to be one floor up and a few shelves back, but is now really the time to be stalling in a library?

Iruk follows, silent.

The Ethereals waste no time getting to the point with Mortimer, spectral arrows and bolts of magic let loose the moment he nears Myria's progress.

Artemis and Victus can see the remains of the mechanical hound wither. Seems it was made of metal and wood?

 

Mortimer reconsiders his options, retreating.

Mortimer and Myria meet back at the crossroads as a roar is heard through the palace.

The roar, however, is not that of a beast. It is instead one of an engine.

 

(OOC: There's always time to stall in a library. That, and this character is pretty much dead weight.)

Cecil goes to grab a random book that's in the common tongue.

 

In the back, the water guardians overhear a small piece of a conversation.

"But, I was told-"
"You've been reassigned, I'm sorry. I don't give the orders. Now, run. Far from here, and don't mention this talk."
"Yes, commander."

You grab a textbook on varying biomes throughout different worlds.

 

"Different worlds...eh."

She grabs another book.
