Were the provinces based off of already existing words, or were they made up from scratch?

I only know off the top of my head that "Wynn" was based off the Old English for "world."

Wynn: Based off an Old English word for "world", as said above
Gavel: Probably one of those mallets judges use
Dern: Based off a Middle English word for "darkness" or "obscurity"
Fruma: Based off an Old English word meaning "origin"
Corkus: Probably just a random name the forum user who thought of it made. Maybe based on the word, "Cork".

This, pretty much, but Gavel was also speculated to mean Greed or something

That is likely, but I just looked up Gavel's definition and one of them is "feudal rent or tribute."

If I wanted to suggest a new province, does 'Verda' sound like a good name? As in the Province of Verda. The second option is 'Growan' and the third option is 'Leah' The capital city is 'Bearu'

    Verda comes from verdant

Growan is the Old english word for grow

Leah is the old english word for meadow
