Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

I get up close to see the blades, completely invisible and cautious of bumping into Cecil.

 

"Thank you? I'm sorry for scaring you." Cecil grabs a much thicker robe than before.

 

Up close, you easily recognize them - they're Vei's.

"Just... leave... please." They utter.

 

She goes back to Kailee.

 

You pass through a flicker of darkness on your way back.
"Ready, Cecil?" Kailee asks.

 

I give Cecil an invisible glare before heading back to the group.

 

"Yeah. I want you to relax for once."

 

Seems Iruk made it back after his modifications. He's giving the guardians space, watching everyone silently.

"Thanks. So, I'm dropping you off with the group then leaving for the goddess' lands?"

 

Once I get back to the group, I appear beside Iruk.

"I trust all went well?" I ask.

 

"If you want."

 

"Aside from an execution, yes." Iruk says. "Your staffing is slightly questionable, no offence. And no, I did not do the killing."

"Well, I'm not following you into the darkness, so you get to go play with the humanoid dragons." Kailee mumbles, flying towards the group.

 

"What do you mean by that?" I ask, suspicious and curious.

 

"One of the guardians had to be hauled off for harassment. I was informed they were soon killed." Iruk says.

 

"Have fun at the beach!" Cecil goes back to the group.

 

"Jesus christ. Well, I like to keep a tight ship, he probably deserved it. Some of the new hires have been reportedly rowdy," I say, "Though it's a rare scenario for execution. It's usually exile."

 

"Thanks! You better not die in there, though. Who'll get me out of the darkness then?" She says happily, flying off after dropping you off near Aj.

"It was exile. Then, Ruby said she fed the snakes because she doesn't tolerate a male harassing a female much."

 

"Guess I need to have a word with Ruby then. She isn't a palace manager." I say, frustrated.

 

"The guardian in charge told her explicitly she could kill him." Iruk adds. "I don't like her ways, but she at least verified it was acceptable... just not in our books."

Ruby uncloaks.
"You called?"

 

"You're sure that the guardian in charge, said, in their own words, 'You can kill this person'?" I ask, suspicious.

"What the hell do you think you're doing killing people working at my palace?" I ask, turning to Ruby.

 

"Well-" Iruk gets cut off.
"Go ask the head Air yourself. I reached out to him and he said I could do what I want with the exhile. So I fed an old acquaintance."
