Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Xephyr is still near Myria, feeding Avis an icicle.

 

I silently approach Xephyr, completely invisible, watching what she does.

"Aj, what are you doing?" Myria asks, suspicious, turning slightly to look directly at me. I freeze up where I stand.

 

Xephyr turns towards Myria, still feeding a rather pacified Avis.
"Huh?"

 

"Aj's sneaking around," Myria says, turning back to sharpening her scythe, "Invisible, of course."

 

Xephyr holds Avis closer to her.
"Aj, if you want to ask me something, you don't have to sneak it by me... Unless I did something to earn your distrust?" She asks, concerned.

 

"Uhh...Aj is not here right now...please leave a message after the beep...beeeep..." I say, before running off a fair distance away.

 

Xephyr turns back towards Myria.
"Um... I'm sorry about Avis. I guess I'm being a pretty bad mother." She sighs. "But... what does Aj want with me? I can't remember doing anything to make him angry at me..."

 

"I can't tell. He certainly isn't going to kill you. Well, that is not his intention, but he wasn't close enough for me to read his mind whilst invisible." Myria says, turning her scythe to look at.

 

"I don't understand why he didn't just walk up to me normally... he has no reason to hide from me, or at least none I'm aware of."

 

Myria simply shrugs.

 

"Oh well... Knowing him he'll come back, though. I've never known him to shy away from anything." Xephyr says, putting Avis on her shoulder as she walks off towards the shore.

 

"He's persistent, be careful." Myria says, nodding over in my direction.

Noticing this, I quickly teleport over to the shore, still invisible, and lay in wait.

 

As Xephyr reaches the shore, she sets Avis on the ground, who then shapeshifts into Xephyr. The real Xephyr seems to be teaching her how to use her basic ice magic, but Avis is apparently a very slow learner.

 

I quietly approach Xephyr, trying not to make my footprints obvious.

 

She turns to demonstrate a ground-freezing frost, but she knows something's off when frost forms around your foot.
Alarmed, Avis unshifts and digs her claws into Xephyr, who inhales quickly as she reaches for her tome.
"W-who's there?!"

 

I quickly summon a faded blue cloak, covering myself over with it in less than a second before making wistful howls, floating around like a lost soul.

 

Xephyr looks at you strangely before moving a bit further down the shoreline, returning to her attempts to get Avis to freeze the ground.

 

I float around a bit more, before desummoning the cloak and taking a wider arc to get near Xephyr.

 

She's still trying to teach Avis, to no avail. Both seem persistent; one in teaching, and both failing.

 

I quickly dive toward Xephyr, empowering her, but not giving her any benefits so its impossible to tell I'm there. I watch what Xephyr does through her eyes, to know how to blend in.
