"That too, but anyways..."
I hold up the skinned rabbit.
"Crystal, you ready?"
"Sure...? What are we doing?"
I slide the rabbit slightly on my blade as to stick it there.
"Just keep that fire up."

 

Buddy tries to touch the fire, but Cecil picks him up.

"No. Fire is bad."

 

"Good idea, keeping him away. Now,"
I say, sitting near Crystal and his fire.
"I'm just going to do this the simple way."
I put the meat over the fire, and rotate the sword slowly.
"This may take a while. Amuse yourselves how you want."
Crystal just looks at Buddy.

 

"Here you go!" She gives Buddy to Crystal.

 

Crystal shifts so that his on-fire hand protrudes from his back to assist me, while a smaller Crystal enjoys playing with Buddy in his lap.

 

"I'm just going to read my tome now." Cecil sits down and opens her tome.

 

I focus on cooking while Crystal focuses on playing.

OOC: Gonna wait for some more replies for a qualified time skip, you good with that?

 

OOC: Yeah

 

I nod, understanding.

"I see what you're getting at. Consider it done." I say slyly, winking.

 

"I'm not saying that you should convince every orphan you meet to start being a combat specialist, but, practically, if you don't want her doing something, it's best to start now."

 

"Don't worry, there isn't a need to cover it up. I possess Xephyr, use Avis' idea that Xephyr is her mother to teach her, and make her do whatever we want. It's the perfect plan." I say, smiling.

 

Ruby stares at you blankly.
"You sure you won't kill her by doing that? Xephyr's kinda on her way out..."

 

"Jesus Ruby, that's grim," I say, surprised, "But, no. I'd probably preserve her life in the process by replacing most if not all her body with mine. Kind of interlacing them like knitting two things together."

 

"Well, the truth stings sometimes. I meant you should tell her your plan; if you startle her, that might be it for her."

 

Ruby feels a slight lapse in consciousness, like she just passed out for a few moments, though can't remember anything about it.

"The first part of possession is disabling the targets brain, or encapsulating what makes them alive or conscious. From there, you essentially have a mindless zombie. They don't remember anything shortly before, during or after the possession. It'll be like they had a crazy party and blacked out. Next you just fill the gaps in their body with your darkness and you've gained control. The only difference between possession and empowerment is that the target stays conscious and they can "use" your powers as you allow them. It's more of a synchronised brain or hive mind type thing." I explain, clearly knowledgeable in the subject.

 

"At any rate, you know what you need to do. I'm gonna go recon and see if we've been wasting too much time."

 

"If you ask Abigail, she'll probably give you sass about getting bored or us wasting time doing nothing," I say, shrugging, "She's in her private part of the city last time I checked."

I walk off, fading away the further I get from Ruby until disappearing completely.

 

There seems to be a ruby red stone embedded in your palm.
"Crush if neccesary." The etching reads.
Ruby herself is definitely not here anymore, though.

 

I phase my arm out, causing the stone to come loose as it is no longer embedded in anything, before catching it before it falls. I put the stone in my cloak's pocket, causing a slight clinking noise as it collides with other objects in the pocket before I seek out Xephyr.
