Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

As soon as Myria sees Artemis, she runs over to her, hugging her.

"There you are, Artemis. I thought I'd lost you." Myria says, smiling.

"I've been here the whole time, mother," Artemis says, laughing, "Besides, I can look after myself."

Myria hugs Artemis again, and I just look confused.

 

Ruby uncloaks near you.
"You're not the only one."

 

Myria seems slightly suspicious of Ruby's appearance, but doesn't pay too much attention to it.

"Sup." I say casually.

 

"She doesn't like Avis, does she?"

 

"I wouldn't think so after it tried to be Artemis," I say, glancing back at Myria, "It's both creepy and wrong."

 

"If she likes you, she mimics you. Should've seen Xephyr when Avis shifted to her!" Ruby chuckles.

 

"That's really weird, you know. It's kind of like Eve if her source was still alive." I say, a disgusted expression on my face.

 

"Well, Xephyr confirms that's Avis. Who ended up scaring the hell out of Myria."

(OOC: Is Avis Aforl's hatchling?)

"Should we care about Avis?" Cecil looks at Xephyr and Avis.

 

"Well, she is an orphan that's still wanted for her soul. She doesn't know much about showing affection."

"Avis? Who's Avis?" Kailee asks, looking over.
"That little fluffy thing?"

 

"What can her soul be used for?" I ask.

 

Ruby pauses.
"Shapeshifting, if you absorb it. So, her family was hunted. Xephyr took her in from a dragon daycare of sorts."

 

"Yeah. Myria almost killed her for looking like Artemis."

 

"She what? How does that ball of fluff even remotely resemble Artemis?!"

 

"Avis is a shapeshifter, like Crystal."

 

"Oh... huh. That's crazy." Kailee mutters.
"I'll only believe you once she shifts into me."

 

"Ok, go ask her that."

 

"Eh, I'm happy with my own shapeshifting. Sure, I can't change myself from looking like a Shadow, but I can still change form," I explain, "Light creatures might hunt her. They can change appearance, but not form. Sure, they could look like a giant, but their size wouldn't change."

 

"Wait... I can't ask a traumatized child to do something out of the blue!"

"Now I'm worried about her from Myria. Avis would shift into various things to play with Xephyr, and she apparently shifted into Artemis to climb a tree."

 

"I saw. Myria has a strong bond with Artemis, and trying to play a fake child would obviously annoy her." I say.

 

"She could shift into any of us, really. Hell, if she shifted into me, she might just die."
