Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Oh, you're right. I didn't make the connection at first. Avis, the latin word for Bird."

 

(OOC: I just took a guess of the name)

"Any specific kind of bird? Or is it just in general?"

 

"Female. A female bird. If I recall correctly. My latin's a bit off."

 

"Well, I never studied Latin."

 

I shrug.
"I skimmed over a Latin dictionary once. It's pretty helpful for understanding some things."
There's a hint of me bluffing in my voice, but it's almost unnoticeable.

 

"CAW!" The crow doesn't like your face. She wants to peck it.

 

OOC: Too late on that one. Go back to Cinderella, crow.
"What?"
I ask it. I'm not particularly expecting an answer.

 

"CAW!" She flies away to the burnt forest.

 

"...What was that about?"
I ask Cecil.

 

"I don't know. The animals I summon don't make any sense." She looks at Kailee.

 

"Funny. I'd imagine they do their jobs, though. How's Kailee, by the way. I saw most of that... fiasco, I guess you could call it."

 

"Since you use it, you know how it works... right?"

The Artemis clone fades into a tiny, feathered hatchling that nervously spits ice towards the skeletal hands.

 

Myria raises her scythe, before bringing it down on the hatchling.

 

Cecil is staring at the dead hatchling. "What the hell was that?"

"Well, somewhat. I haven't got a chance to fully study my tome."

 

"Avis?"
I suggest.
"I hope not, though."

 

Upon hearing the scythe hit the ground, Xephyr turns and gasps.
"A-avis...?"

"Next time you look into it, I want to look too."

 

The scythe digs into the ground, just next to the hatchling. It seems Myria simply wanted to intimidate rather than kill.

"What have you done to my daughter!?" Myria asks, her voice dark and serious.

 

Xephyr rushes in and scoops up Avis.
"W-wait... Avis is a shapeshifter... I'm supposed to protect her. She did nothing to Artemis."

 

Myria just glares at Xephyr momentarily, her normal eyes unable to see, simply a dark green glow where they were. Myria turns and continues looking for Artemis, and aura of death in her wake.

 

Artemis and Sgavrinn are...
Not together.
Sgavrinn's sleeping around a tree and Artemis is elsewhere.
(I don't remember where Artemis is)
