Just completed the game with the following:

-Decidueye (named "Archer". Probably going to change it to "Soul Archer" or something because it's a Ghost type IF I COULD FIND THE NAME RATER)
-Lunala (I don't nickname legendaries. I nickname everything else though)
    -Hypno (Named "Not Hypno")
-Sandslash (Named "Frosty the Snowman" and is probably going to be cut from the team soon because it's a really weak Pokemon)
-Wishiwashi (Named "Fsh". Will fix that later. "Schooling" is such a useful ability though...)
    -Talonflame (Named "Bard")

The only one to last to the end of the champion battle was Lunala, and it was at 5 HP. I hate his Snorlax...

Well, time to go catch a Mimikyu because Mimikyu is life.

working on a hypothetical team for Competitive use that I wouldn't be doing. Just building it for fun and as something to do.

So far I go this: https://richi3f.github.io/pokemon-t...ly-normal+exeggutor-alola+azumarill+aegislash

Any thoughts or suggestions on it and how each mon would be used? I'm not the most knowledgeable in the mechanics of competitive play, and want to learn just the basics and go from there. Not that I'd go competitive in tournaments and whatnot, but knowing the basics couldn't hurt.

We need more than just pokemons to be able to help you, what do you think most of them should be ?
Mons like Salazzle are only used as sweepers, whereas mons like Aegislash can use a plethora of different sets depending on your team's need.
I also need to know what format you want to play, because it's vital to team synergy.

I'll use an example of a Battle Tree team core I made for Super Doubles :

    Tapu Lele @ Leftovers
    Ability: Psychic Surge
    Level: 50
    EVs: 252 HP / 116 Def / 140 SpA
    Calm Nature
    IVs: 0 Atk
    - Psychic
    - Moonblast
    - Calm Mind
    - Protect
    [IMG]
    Kartana @ Focus Sash
    Ability: Beast Boost
    Level: 50
    EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe
    Adamant Nature
    - Leaf Blade
    - Smart Strike
    - Sacred Sword
    - Protect

    Pelipper @ Sitrus Berry
    Ability: Drizzle
    Level: 50
    EVs: 252 HP / 152 Def / 96 SpA / 4 SpD / 4 Spe
    Modest Nature
    IVs: 0 Atk
    - Hurricane
    - Scald
    - Tailwind
    - Protect

    Garchomp @ Lum Berry
    Ability: Rough Skin
    Level: 50
    EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe
    Jolly Nature
    - Earthquake
    - Rock Slide
    - Poison Jab
    - Protect
If you put them in a weakness analizer, you can see they don't have many shared ones, so that's a good start.

This team works in two halves, the main offensive pivot is Kartana, as it's able to sweep entire teams depending on the opposing lead.
Tapu Lele's ability prevents it from being hit by a priority moves, so it can't be faked out or sucker punched.
If I know Kartana will be able to nuke one opponent from the get go, I can stay in with Lele and use a Calm Mind to have some backbone if Kartana happens to get knocked out.

Now, you may realize "well if it's so good, then why the fuck do you have two pokemon like garchomp and pelipper on the bench ?"

Lele and Kartana leads have 2 major issues : Sun and Sand teams, and Poison leads.
If I'm facing an opposing lead that I know will go badly for Kartana and/or Tapu Lele, I double switch into these two, or only one of them if I encounter a x4 weakness (Electric and Ice). This almost always guarantees me some leeway to put pressure on the opponent, especially with Garchomp and his rock slides, and Pelipper being such a very good physical tank.

The EV spread on Pelipper allows to OHKO Abomasnow with Hurricane before it fucks up Garchomp with Blizzard.

So far, I'm able to easily reach the 50 victory streak in Super Doubles with it, and I haven't changed it since.

Yeah, i need to plan my team out more.... thanks.

My plan is for singles, and will be looking up videos on the basics in a minute, as well as volcabulary at that stuff.

My plan for the Aegieslash is to have a more offencive mon, but still having kings sheild for the times i need it, and the Salazzle is just a placment holder, i just had it in for the ability and may swap it out with another fire type later. I also think Umbreon and Azumaril are defencive, but i'm not completly sure. And the Exegguator can be swapped out, only have it in there to put use to a mon i got while trying to get a castform, getting the shiny of it.

I mean I cant think of a set that doesnt have King's Shield yknow

Azumarill isnt defencive, as it gets Huge Power, might as well use it, and it has terrible bulk

Most singles teams go like this iirc :
    -A physical sweeper
    -A special sweeper
    -A physical tank
    -A special tank
    -A versatile lead
    -One other support pokemon

Then you dont have to worry about tiers then, unless you want a good idea at what you should use

Personnaly I'd say build a team around Pheromosa, but im not well versed in singles

I used this (standard) team for Singles (I made it through 50 streak Super Singles with it):

    Salamence @ Salamencite
    Ability: Intimidate
    EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe
    Timid Nature
    - Shadow Claw
    - Earthquake
    - Return
    - Dragon Dance

    Tapu Lele @ Choice Scarf
    Ability: Psychic Surge
    EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe
    Timid Nature
    IVs: 0 Atk
    - Psyshock
    - Shadow Ball
    - Hidden Power [Fire]
    - Moonblast

    Alakazam @ Focus Sash
    Ability: Magic Guard
    EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe
    Timid Nature
    IVs: 0 Atk
    - Psychic
    - Shadow Ball
    - Focus Blast
    - Energy Ball

Mence usually kills everything off, Tapu Lele is revenge killer, Alakazam the Special Hitter for BattleTree (Super) Singles.
    Note:
No Dragon Moves on Salamanence as it covers nothing with it. Aerialate Return + Stab is sufficient to rip anything apart. Shadow Claw is odd, but you eitherway never use that as Return is mostly more preferred.
Tapu's Psyshock + Stab + Terrain hits like a truck. With Scarf its a good revenge killer. HP Fire is harder to get, but it can help against steals that block way. Alakazam is fairly straight forward.

Btw do we have like a thread where we can battle eachother?
