If I am right, each item has its own ID, and mods delete them by searching the id and see if there are more.
Most people who duped the weapons re-ided them, so they can't get caught.

Shit wrong person I think it was @OllieVader when we were going to fight cow I sold him a weapon but he couldn't see me cos I had my disguises off

 

How can mods tell a duped item from a legitimate one? Is there some sort of unique serial code embedded in every item's data that is not visible to a player and every iteration of a given item has a unique version thereof which only moderators can view? If so, does that serial code then remain constant throughout the lifespan of the item regardless of re-IDs?

Then, should a duping incident ever occur, would the original item's serial code then be identical throughout the dupes and be searched for by moderators by using some sort of blacklist function, or immediately erased altogether with one swift and deadly command?

Nice theories, but I doubt a system like you two are suggesting has been implemented. I believe the mods are checking the IDs and the amount of items that have shown up in the market/game that they know of. I could be wrong myself, but I believe a system like that is bound to have flaws.

RIP those overpriced mythics. :D (Not that I encourage nor support duping.)

It depends on if the staff know how it's executed. If the staff know how the dupe works, it can be fixed. If they don't know how it works, it cannot be fixed. Bugs usually cannot fix themselves.

Heck, they could be old duped items from a time that duping worked. That would mean that there is currently no dupe glitch and thus causes drama. :/

Well just so you all know, in two hours I saw THREE instances of people finding STACKS of Gaia. Also wanted to say JuicedBananas is watching everything in detlas practically. They are looking hard to find whoever is doing this. If you all see someone drop the item please message them. (Messaging any mod or doing /report works too, but JuicedBananas is looking especially)

 

in two minutes i saw 10 people getting tons of fatals

 

.-. Stop insulting yourself. Don't get so worked up over a game. I'm sure that the mods have this under control. The moment the dupers try to sell one of these, they will get banned, if they aren't all banned already.
