I'm sorry XDoodlesNight, your app did not make the cut. Don't feel too discouraged though, you can always apply again! Here are some tips for your next application, to increase your chances of being accepted.

1. Be original. We do not want copies of quests already in-game, nor do we want to read the same quest over and over again.
2. Be organized. First impressions are everything, so if the app is neat, pleasing to the eyes, and easy to read, we'll be in a much better mood while reading it.
   
3. Be over-the-top. The more effort and writing you put into the application, the more opportunity we have to assess your writing ability. Instead of just doing one section of dialogue, why not write out the speeches for the entire quest?

My GM application was awesome I worked so hard on quest and Idk what I did wrong. It took me a very long time and they just denied it and they didn't even give any reason or criticism, I really want feedback so if you did this please tell me how I can I improve and I will do better then my best, thanks

They probably just weren't looking for that type of idea, or something along that line!

What I would say, is maybe think of a quest that you can make for just events, not story wise, or anything like that.

Also I feel like you could have just said in the original post that you were denied, and I think people could have helped you out with that knowledge alone...

Okay, I read your application and the quest was a fetch quest iirc, it was like, walk here, walk there, return here.
We aren't looking for fetch quests. Dont feel too bad, you can always try again, make it more fun and unique, add something interesting to it so it stands out.
We only accept the best of the best, so please dont get upset.

 

Also, I realize that I worded that wrong... what I mean is:

Don't do anything with the Wynncraft story in the quest...

Mainly because I feel like they might be taking the story on Wynncraft a completely different route than you might think they are. But what I mean here is:

Make sure it's Original - Meaning think outside the box, maybe in order to start the quest you have to kill a mob and get an item, and then from there it gives you the quest, or maybe you have to go somewhere special, and then just by walking into the area it starts the quest... And if you want to do a boss in the quest, what I'd suggest is create a theme in the quest, maybe something like where you have to do something with Gravity, or you have to go back in time to do something, then use that theme that you created in the boss fight some how.

You gotta wow the crowd when it comes to making a GM or Builder app... you can't just make any old quest, you gotta act like you're an artist, and you want to show a crowd of HARSH critiques your work. You need to be confident in it, and you need to be original... and tbh, like what was said here:

If it's just something where you go to a place, you pick something up, and you go back to where you started, then that'll never be accepted, because it's been done a LOT of times already.

Very early on in my, now 3 month long, existence here on the Craft called Wynn, I attempted to get folks to collaborate on fleshing out a very silly and extremely thin quest idea. I had no intention of trying to be a GM or whatever, no intention to provide a polished, finished product. I just had an oddball weapon skin idea and I was putting together some thematic reason for it to exist in game. I tossed out the basic plot and not knowing a flipping thing about what was possible to code in this game nor much experience with already existing quests, I was just seeing where more knowledgeable folk would take things.

It didn't fly. I was a bit perplexed by the generally negative tone of the replies. But if what was in the OP is what folks thought I was aiming for, it makes sense in hindsight.

To briefly hijack the thread... If the intention is to provide story concepts, themes and/or hooks to the existing gang of GM's for their future use, is there a place for such frivolity on these forums or is that sort of thing just not done here?

Generally, the section to suggest ideas is, as you might suspect, the General Suggestions. However, we never actually use the (quest) ideas posted there. That is because we can't use the plot someone outside the team came up with, because it might not fit with what we already have set up for the lore. Therefore, we generally tend to come up with our own plots for quests.

If you feel like showing people a cool idea, feel free to go ahead. Nothing stops you. But just keep in mind that if you want it actually implemented in some shape or form, you need to become a GM! ;D

 

So if I really like an idea bad enough to see it in game, I have to keep it to me self, an try to become a GM to make it happen? Thus, only the silly crap gets tossed around the forum to get a laugh. Okay then.
